Azone 50's anyone?

From memory you changed her default wig for a Leekworld wig? I have much the same problem... one of my other dolls borrowed Homura's wig one day and well it never came back so I had to buy her a replacement, and the one I got was a very tight fit and it seems to enjoy popping off at the slightest provocation... It's not so bad now as I think since she's been wearing it it's stretched out a bit but it's still on a fine trigger.

I may try putting a rubber band around her head for some extra traction, see if that does anything--but that'll be a couple weeks before I can test that theory, since I'm moving to a new apartment soon and need to pack ALL THE THINGS.

How badly did your regular wig stain Homura's head? I'm ashamed to admit it but four of my girls have black hair and every single one of them has a stained head.

 

I sometimes wonder if their faces will be stained by their bangs as well, but I guess that depends on whether the staining comes from the hair itself or the black fabric the cap is made out of.

Just dropping in to show off the new "Alice Dress" set from Azone that I picked up. This girl is 47cm body (I think?) and her waist a bit big for the petticoat, but otherwise fits well. The fabric is super soft and delicate feeling, really digging this set.

 

I have this same dress! Mei here is a Parabo 40cm body and has no issues wearing it, not even with skirt length which was my primary concern.

Just a question but what's the correct way to put on a wig? It took me ten minutes to put it on my girl but I just need to make sure in case it ever pops out

There are a couple of different ways, depending on how stretchy the wig is, if it's tight/loose at rest and the presence of extra bits.

 

One way is to flip the wig entirely inside-out, place the centre of the inside out cap on the back of the head and roll it out over the head, pulling it tight. But I find this messes wigs up if you do it... at the very least you're combing everything out and of course this method can't be used if the wig has accessories or compound parts such as ponytails.

 

The other is to place the wig on top of the head with your off hand, and, holding it in place, stretch the fabric cap out over the head from underneath the hair with your on hand. Works sometimes, again depends on how tight/loose fitting it is.

 

I have found a couple wigs that I can essentially slide onto the head... Homura's default wig, which Mei now owns, is loose enough to just slide on her head and yet it will happily stay there until it requires removing.

 

To be honest though I loathe changing wigs as every time takes a little bit of life out of the wig. I actually lightly sand down the neck bolts of all my bodies so that removing or adding a head is easier, as unmodified they can be a very tight fit and make taking a girl's head off very traumatising. With sanded neck pegs it's an absolute breeze, so changing into or out of clothing that requires a head off is easy.

 

While I am on the topic of Mei, I bought her some CoolCat MDD underwear and it fits perfectly.

It's gorgeous ^^. But thanks for the tip. Also any tips for hair brushing? I got a toothbrush for her but I wasn't sure if there was anything else I needed or methods since I'm new to this

 

I unbolted homura''s wings and put it away safely because I feel like it could get in the way when doing her hair and honestly feels easier moving her around especially with how small my home is. I'll probably put it back on during doll meets, conventions, or photoshoots

Also any tips for hair brushing?

 

Whether I have tips depends on how well versed you are at brushing a girl's hair.

 

A toothbrush is fine, but I prefer to use a baby's toothbrush as they are extra soft. Start from the end of her hair, gently working out any knots as you go. Don't pull too hard or you'll pull the hair out and have a very upset little demon girl to deal with.

 

I like to lightly wet my girl's hair with plain water from a spray bottle while doing it as that seems to encourage knots to slide out. If I find flyaways that can't be tamed I trim them off with a pair of sharp scissors. It is a sad fact that all my girls use wigs on the cheaper end of the scale so every now and then I have a mangled-up hair to trim off.

Yes there was once a time when I thought one would be enough, but that was ever so long ago. Now I have four very expensive young ladies to care for.

 

It's interesting how Azone tell you to assemble the head/neck pieces. I will have to try it and see if it's better or worse than how I do it.

I did notice that Azone has sold AZO2 G-bust bodies (minus the head) for 25,000yen at Wonder Festival 2012 (saw a sold-out listing on Mandarake). I wonder if they routinely sell the bodies or parts at any conventions...

That was likely the one I snatched last November (though it's a 50/50 chance because I think manda has sold two of them separately). I don't think they sell them very often because they're so rare to come about by themselves.

 

I bought it in anticipation of my first big Azone girl... which I got yesterday. :3 I bought a Moonlit Raven DS ver. Luluna without her default clothes -also from Manda. (I love most of the older Black Raven releases.) I just love her smile and red-ish hair <3

 

 

 

She's swapped onto the AZO2 body. Her original body's foot broke while I was unpacking her because the ankle had probably cracked in shipping. Now I'm so glad I had the other body around, phew! The shapely thick legs are super adorable =u=

I'm with you there, Elianti. I would love to get a G-bust AZO2 body too. You would think that summer=tan for the Happiness Clover line.

 

I'm just wondering where the AZO2 swimsuits are. A one-piece swimsuit for the AZO2 G/I busts would be great.

It's always difficult to tell what exactly a skin tone color is from online pictures. The images on the Azone site (http://www.azone-int.co.jp/azonet/detail.jsp?itemcode=4582119984311) don't look as dark as the old Obitsu fleshtone and nowhere near as dark as the tan/brown Obitsu makes for Angel Philia/Yamato. It seems Obitsu has discontinued producing 60cm bodies in fleshtone. Is this "natural" a new replacement color somewhere between white skin and fleshtone? Will there be three skin tones in their 50cm range, white skin, super white, and natural?

I guess we can only wait until Mirei gets released to be sure. I do have a 1/6 fleshtone Obitsu but only white skin 50/60cm Obitsu/Azones, so I'm not sure how they'll do "natural" skin at the 1/3 scale. I've seen one owner picture of a fleshtone obitsu in one of the skin color comparison threads and it does look quite a bit tanner than Azone's own images of Mirei, but then again when I look at some of Obitsu's pictures of fleshtone/natural heads meant for the 60cm body those heads don't seem to be that dark too. I bought my 1/6 fleshtone obitsu within the last three years and the soft vinyl parts were a bit lighter than the hard vinyl parts, and may be lighter than the fleshtone 60cm though I can't be sure. Possibly Mirei's own natural skintone will be of a similar slightly darker and warmer than whitey(but still nowhere near brown) shade.

 

A color in between Obitsu white and Angel Philia/Yamato tan is exactly what I want though so if that's what Mirei will be I'm excited for any future Azone releases with this skin color. I really hope that natural skintone for 50cms won't end with her. I think Obitsu has only released super white in the standard 50cm body, with only Mizuki/50-01 and Mafuyu/50-04 as matching head options so far? I don't think Azone announced any girls in super white yet, though I'd definitely welcome more options.

 

As an aside, it looks like Obitsu is looking to hire a sales and production manager. I wonder what effect that would have on current and future releases, if any.

I'm curious about the new skintone too, I always thought the 'flesh' color was really orangey.

 

If it's not a super limited item, maybe a proxy can order AZ02 body from the website for ya. I do like the proportions, but I can't bring myself to love those knees.

For those interested, while browsing yja I found an azo2 body. It's missing the shins, hands and an arm tho and has what seems to be light damage or stains. Seems pretty cheap tho. Like $70 or so currelenty.

Usually Azone releases are available at sites like HLJ, Amiami, and Hobby Search, though I'm not sure if the 2nd anniversary stuff including the AZO2 G body will be available there. Your best bet is if you can find a shopping/deputy service to buy them online or at the Akiba store for you. I don't know if proxies like FromJapan, Noppin, Jauce, etc would buy from Azonet, given how several items sell out within minutes of posting there, but it's worth a try..

 

AZO2 bodies also pop up in Yahoo Japan once in a while. Unfortunately the auction that Waffles posted has ended(and at a pretty good price too omg--I might have bid on it if I saw it in time.. ^^"), but they do show up if you keep checking.

Jauce will buy from just about any online store but it is all about timing. I was able to get several VMF50s from Yamato through Jauce back when they would be on sale for hours before selling out. I have to admit I missed those sales more often than not.
