Azone 50's anyone?

Are you able to get the short hair back into the stumpy pigtails at all? I read a tutorial for a cosplay wig at one point that used that technique on purpose, because the large volume of the character's twin tails would otherwise drag the ponytail holder downward under their weight. What they did once the hair was in the stumpy pigtails, was add glue to the stumps and let it dry. Then, you have a sort of rubbery stump that you can sew the twin tail wefts to. Since I don't know the condition of your wig, I don't know if this would be helpful or possible.

Slightly OT: While I hadn't heard of this technique with the hair stumps before now, the bolded is exactly what happens with Miku's wig, both Volks and the Cotindoll versions. Instead of the twintails being high on her head like her character design, they're coming out of the sides or lower. I have the Cotindoll wig, and I find I have to from time to time try to pull the twintail hair back through the elastic bands holding them together to keep them from sagging further. Putting the wig on tends to mess this up.

I had a lot of fun reading through this thread and seeing all the different types there are. I recently (impulse) bought an older azone, Ruruna, I think? Because it was a really good deal.  I really like how they have the same aesthetic as the tiny ones! Surprisingly, clothes made for Rosenlied Holiday/ Big BB fit really well-at least the ones I have.

So yes, she is a Luluna -- the special direct store version, even! She should fit anything made for Obitsu50, plus a lot of MSD clothes (regular MSD, not slim MSD).

I've turned my Azone Sumire into a Miku for the past while and I love the look on her but the AZO2 bust size is definitely way too big for Miku. Does anyone know if the AZO2 body could take a replacement Obitsu chest piece of a smaller bust size? 

Yes, AZO2 and Obitsu are compatible. They use the same internal frame. I can't remember if you'd need to trim any vinyl but I don't think so. 

I have a Kano but I think she is the last Iris Collect I'm getting. I love her to bits but I noticed all Iris Collects have the same face mold, in result they mostly have a sameface. The outfits they come with are really good though and I wish they sold those without the dolls.

Yes, sadly all Iris Collect have 1 headmold and all Iris Collect Petit have 1 headmold. Despite that, I still have 3 of the original Iris Collect line and a fourth incoming...

I want an Iris Collect although they are around the same price as DDs. 

I have one currently. She was kind of a leap of faith as she was the Hobby Search edition one, however I do have the new Rino eventually coming and she should be the last one for 1/3s (Prior I didn't intend on it but... I loved her outfit.)? 😶 I do like the 1/4 ones and will probably leap on one of those eventually, I'm just waiting for the right one to come along. In the meantime, Kano has the spot for my only large Azone girl. 

hello! i’ll admit this is an.... odd question, but has anyone tried carving eyes into the AZO2 dolls that have them painted on? i found an azone girl i absolutely adore but i’m not super fond of her printed eyes, and i don’t like the single sculpt iris collect uses enough to warrant spending that much on them. i’d like to put eyes in my doll if i can, or at least pay someone who knows what they’re doing to do it for me. anybody tried this before, or knows of someone who has?

Yup! Someone at the local meets (I think actually K-2???) has a Levy where the original eyes have been carved out and new eyes put in. She looks great! I think it probably requires a steady hand and steady nerves, but it can be done.

Nanarin (Japanese Twitter User) has done that to several of the Azone AZO2 Happiness Clover dolls.

 

Here's Yui & Mahiro.  You can search his account for more pics (the modded ones tend to be around 2019 and earlier).

 

It probably comes out better with the Happiness Clover heads (as they have sculpted eye areas) versus some of the character heads (that have smooth eye surfaces).

Thank you. I was aware only of 50-01 to 04.

Yeah, there's 50-05 (Yurisa), 50-06 (Rosalie), and 50-07 (Manatsu). I think they're all Obitsu exclusives and only released in limited batches. I've been on the hunt for a Manatsu for months and still haven't found one... But someday I will!
