Azone 50's anyone?

It seems that Anthy wasn't popular or was at least a bit controversial in Japan. I'd love to have her though, wonder if you can dye obitsu?

The easy alternative would be doing a character from the Saturn game, Chigusa-

If you can dye DDs, I don't see why you can't dye Obitsu, honestly XD Her uniform would be the hardest part, me thinks, or perhaps her wig (if you commission someone for her outfit). I don't remember seeing that kind of purple wig around (although I don't have the best memory around admittedly...).

I'm out of the loop on Azone but I just saw they've made an updated version of the 50cm body last year, called 'AZO2'. I prefer the proportions a lot more than the original 50cm! It looks very similar to DD, just shorter.

Very interesting, I never knew about AZO2! I still prefer Obitsu 50, though, it has that petite look that works best for many anime girls. And DD is good for the more shapely girls

Is the new Azone 50 body the one they used for Sen Hime she certainly looked a bit more curvy in the photos I have seen of her both from Azone and owners..

Possibly, at least the bust part looks different from default 50cm obitsu. I like the added detail on the pectoral area :3

I think this is the az02-g cup? The az02-i cup was used for Queens Blade Sigui. I wish Azone would release their bodies separately, or atleast the skins. Parabox have released 45cm and soon 47cm girls that have thicker curves than the defaukt 50cm obitsu, but I really like the shaping of the bust and hips on these Azone bodies.

I really like the shape of these bodies too, they are a bit more mature looking than the standard obitsu bodies with nicer curves, but without the overly sexy look of the VMF bodies.

 

wonder if they will ever be available separately or only as part of a set.

i was a bit surprised too... the pink dress she is wearing is something i purchased at an ABJD swap/sale, it was made for someone else's 60cm doll. i had originally intended it for one of my DDs but it was too small to fit properly so it had been kept in storage until recently.

 

personally, i really like her wig, and that is coming from someone who usually prefers shorter wig styles. it's very glossy and fun how insanely long it is. the bangs are cut a bit too bluntly though and obviously it gets tangled very easily, so i can definitely see both of those things being potential issues... to each their own, anyway!

i definitely intend to take more photos of her when i have another theme for her! i unboxed her in december but unfortunately i was getting really ill around that time and didn't have the energy to pursue photography, so this was the first time i did a mini-shoot with her since she arrived last year. i certainly like her a lot.

 

i also chose her for her very unique face, you pinned it down well in your description! i haven't read the Houkago Play manga (yet...) but the doll itself emanates enough "character" that i knew i had to get her when she was up for pre-order last year.

He's a couple of pictures of my girl(Kanojo). I really need to find a jacket similar to the one's she's wearing, I "stole" this one from Waha on our most recent meet-up.

I've been trying to look up more info on them and wondering if I should get one of those instead of a DDS for now. Not sure I like the printed eyes. I like switching out eyes and such too much.

Bloodflower, i love the way you styled your Kanojo! the baseball bat and the splatters are an awesome finishing touch and she looks all tough and butch.

 

for perverse reasons, ever since the pink dress, i have been dressing my Kanojo in a series of feminine fashions and styles. i don't know why it amuses me because i assumed i was going to make her into an ubergoth-type character, but she's spent the majority of the summer wearing pink, lacy things, or pastels.

 

i have a bunch of photos of her from June to now sitting on my computer waiting to be edited, when i actually get on that, i will share them ~ orz

her eyes are not printed, FYI. nor are Azone 50 Misaki Mei's. i know that most Azone dolls have printed eyes but with the 50cm series some (if not all of them?) have interchangeable eyes just like BJD/DD.

 

also, fwiw, i prefer the 50cm Obitsu type body over the Volks DD bodies. if you find a head you like and you can afford it, then i recommend them.

Correction: The Hybrid Active Figure line have painted eyes. The Another Realistic Character line have acrylic eyes.

thanks for clarifying, i really don't know shxt about Azone dolls (or Obitsu in general) beyond any relation to VMF-types. Kanojo is my only non-VMF Obitsu doll so i admit i haven't paid excessive attention to the other dolls in their [Azone or Obitsu] 50cm lines.

I saw her a few months ago by accident while searching for other dolls. I don't think she looks evil as much as she looks devilish, but in a sly, wink-and-nod, tongue-in-cheek kind of way. That's particularly true with the green you have her in.

 

Other than Kanojo, the (2) other Azones' I would like to have are Shigyi and Kashiwazaki Sena.

Shigyi for the sex appeal and Sena because she looks so sweet.

JSYK, as you happened to notice with my "smiling Rei DD" photo a while ago, i often tweak my dolls' facial expressions using Photoshop (this is why i tell people not to use my photos for reference unless otherwise noted). in this case however, i only made a few minor changes to her face - you can look at anyone else's Kanojo pictures and see that she still has her signature 'sly smile' even without Photoshop!

bahaha, you don't need to be respectfully envious as you put it! i'm sure Kanojo would be pleased that she makes people green with envy. she seems like that sort of character. she's very mischievous...maybe even a bit of a troll sometimes...

 

i got her last year when she was available for pre-order from AmiAmi. she arrived while i was getting extremely sick though, so i didn't really spend a lot of time hanging out with her and photographing her until this year. i love how unique and surprisingly versatile she is.

 

the other Azone50 ARC doll i consider/ed getting - but passed on the pre-order for her (foolishly, probably) - is Misaki Mei. i don't find the doll of her to be as uniquely full of character and inspiring as Kanojo, which is partly why i passed (the other reason being financial limitations in the sense of having to choose between her and other hobby purchases), but part of me still wants to get her because she is a character i really like - and if you've ever watched the anime of 'Another', you might understand why a doll of her character is an extremely ironic thing (not going to say any more than that to avoid spoilers).

i don't know if your comment was directed at me, Bloodflower, or at these dolls in general... but i'll vouch for the fact that they are extremely fun and enjoyable dolls. is there are a particular one you are thinking about getting or want to get?

 

oh yes, and one more thing, since Marq V mentioned Sigyi and Sena... i follow someone on flickr who takes fantastic doll pictures and he owns Sena. if i can find some of his pictures, i'll edit them into this post with links (although you might have already seen them)

Oh, yes, yes! Misaki Mei. I almost forgot about her. I liked her because I have seen her with...*spoiler* . I thought she would be a great compliment to my DD's & resin gals

 

When I started this hobby back in 2001, I thought for sure I would be content with (2) dolls. (12) dolls later...

I have the 50cm Azone Saber Zero; she's super-cute!

 

Totally fell in love with the Azone dolls when I went to the Azone Label Shop in Akihabara. I think I'm going to try and get more of them...
