Super Dollfie clothes on Obitsu 48 S

Hi, I’m thinking of buying one of the Azone Ellen series dolls (Obitsu 48 Small Bust) and saw this gorgeous outfit for Super Dollfie that I’d like to have her wear, but I have no idea if it will fit and don’t want to waste money if it doesn’t.

I’ve been trying to find the answer to this question, but I’m new to 1/3 scale dolls (she’ll be my first!) and don’t really understand the jargon/anything about Volks dolls, so I’m hoping someone here can help me.

Will the Spring Magic Girl (either the SD version or the Mini version) fit an Azone Ellen doll?

Mumble... I'm pretty sure the SD version will be too large (60 cm doll vs 48 cm doll), but this one...

I have only Angel Philia/VMF50 girls, based on Obitsu50/48 frame. I don't know the specific measure differences with Azone Ellens, but I can guess...

I have also many SD/DD/MSD dresses that can or can't fit (too large/long) my dolls even with a difference of 12 cm in height from a Dollfie, but the things to take in account are 2:

-sleeves and pants will always be very long compared to the arms and legs of an obitsu48 (in caseof DD/SD dresses) or even shorter for MSD dresses;

-often the fact that the clothes are loose is compensated by the abundant measurements of the breasts and hips of the angelphilia;

-Obitsu48 = 48cm,  SD = ~58 cm, MSD = ~43cm

 

 

Each dress must be evaluated case by case, but MSD are generally a better fit cause thy're closer in height to Obitsu48.

 

In this specific case there are no sleeves or pant, so one problem solved.

I don't think there will be any problem with the neck piece, as for the skirt maybe it could be a bit loose but it certainly won't have any length problems.

 

The center piece ... could be a problem. It may be too large even for an S bust or fit perfectly. It's a very hit or miss situation when you don't buy Azone or Obitsu tailored dresses.

 

I hope I have not confused your ideas even more, we are waiting for someone more experienced, but in any case, if I had to choose, I would absolutely go for the mini version.

Thank you for explaining that. It puts things into perspective, so I guess I will focus on the Mini version of the outfit (although to be honest I’m a little disappointed as I like the look of the SD version better, but I can’t complain too much as the Mini is still nicer than Azone’s current offerings).

Thanks again for your advice @Testament. I ordered the Spring Magic Girl Mini outfit and am waiting for it to arrive. Excited to see if it fits and how it will look. I’ll be sure to update once it arrives (which will take a while because the store I ordered it from is notoriously slow).

Do you know if Azone 1/3 dolls can wear Volks shoes? Would these in particular fit?

Again,  I think this shoes will be too big for Azone feet. MSD is a better fit, I have some MSD shoes that fit well enough on Obitsu feet (=Azone feet), but DD feet are longer than 6,5 cm (if I remember the exact measure).

This kind of shoes at least is closed, not open on the instep, so you can close them aroun the ankles, but I fear she wouls look like a bigfoot.

Unfortunately, you can only be sure with Azone shoes, 'cause a dress can be somewhat accomodated, but if a shoes is too big you can't do anything about it 😕

Ah, I noticed it said MDD (mochi ashi), but I guess the mochi ashi are much thicker than normal MSD legs? That’s too bad, I really like those boots…

It's less to do with the mochi-ashi's legs and more to do with the fact that the feet are just too small for SD shoes. See this comparison:

The smaller feet here are actually my Dollmore Kid's since I cut the toes off my Obitsu, but they're the same size so the comparison still works. Boots would probably look better but they'd definitely still be wobbly. You're better off just buying shoes that actually fit the Obitsu properly. 

That said... if you're really attached to those shoes and willing to do a bit of disassembly, you can put DDS feet on an Obitsu body. See here:

 

Thank you for the visual aid @hellFlower. I see now that there’s probably no way it’s going to work (not ready to mod her feet quite yet!), but this has been very enlightening for reference purposes. I wish Azone would make fancy stuff like this. Their designs look so uninspired in comparison.

The default 48/50cm Obitsu bodies are roughly the same size as a Dollfie Dream Pretty. Outfits listed as fitting that size will typically fit a 48cm Obitsu. However, the Azone O2 bodies are quite a bit curvier and fit DDS sizes better I believe.

I’ve purchased some MSD/MDD Volks outfits for my Obitsus, and they generally fit fine. Bottoms are going to show off a lot more leg, though, since that’s where all the extra height is, which could be a problem with long pants. I’ve noticed Volks typically doesn’t mark outfits with pants as DDP compatible, just skirts or shorts. Sleeves are maybe a little short in some poses, but nothing too noticeable. Width-wise, an S-bust should have no issue.

Thanks for all the info, guys. The Spring Magic Girl Mini outfit arrived today and it fits Alice (Azone/Obitsu 48cm S Bust) perfectly. Now to hunt down the bunny ears, white layered belt and some shoes that fit the aesthetic and her outfit will be complete.
