Volks International order times?

Recommended Posts

empty

I was wondering about how long it takes from order payment for them to collect and ship things that are in-stock? I tried searching a couple keyword combinations and didn't see a consistent answer, in comments between here and DOA the timeframe ranged from 2 days to 2 weeks so I'm not sure what to expect.

I know the website says it can be up to 14 days depending on how busy it is, and my order has only hit the 1 week mark. I'm not in any rush either, just wondering if I should usually assume processing times to be on the longer end of things or not?

Expect two-three weeks, but can be faster, I don't know what it depends on (mine are usually around three). Fingers crossed that it ships soon!

Generally non event items ship in less than 2 weeks, and event items can take longer.

I’ve had it take as long as a month when they have a lot going on.

Alright, longer side of things it is. As long as it turns up by July or so I’ll be happy, which also doesn’t seem too unrealistic. Thank you!

I'm in the same boat, @empty. I ordered a DDdy body on the 11th, and they let me know they're currently experiencing a really high volume of orders. I'm guessing mine will take closer to a month to ship out.

Let me know if you get an update!

Heck, that's quite long. My mochi-ashi is also still in limbo. Was ordered on the 8th, I think.

I have a clothing order that's about three weeks old - by the time they ship it out, they may be able to use EMS again! I'll deal.

Yeah I just woke up to one as well! Can’t wait!

With the timing I guess it was probably the last batch of only-DHL shipments? That’s exciting in its own way too.

I wonder how quickly it'll arrive then. Now I only need to figure out what to do for a head for my Mochi. XD

With DHL, mine should be here Wednesday or Thursday. EMS usually takes longer, but I’m located near the port of entry for USPS in my region, so it’s not that much longer.

That would be unreasonably quick by Belgian standards, especially considering this parcel has to pass through customs.
I fully expect it to be stuck in customs for another week or two.

It has to pass through customs here too, but there are no duties on dolls, so they just get cleared to move to the next stop. DHL has its own customs inspection facility, and they’re usually pretty quick to clear stuff. Lately there is often a delay after customs while DHL waits for an available flight.

Ah, that sounds so convenient.
I'm not exactly certain how dolls are treated at the customs office in Belgium anymore, given that the last time I imported one (my current Saber from Mandarake) was in 2012. 😄

We'll see how it goes, I suppose.

AFAIK, anyone in the EU will pay VAT on a doll, and it’s not going to be small.

Most likely, yes. I don't expect there to not be a VAT charge. And it's most likely going to be 21%, so in my case around 55 + administration costs is what I'm expecting.

I feel you. Canada's isn't as high (5% on dolls or plastic goods, IIRC) but it's still something we have to budget for.

I hope your package arrives safely and quickly!

Yeah, I've been reading a bit just now. Apparently it's 4% import tax + €32 administration costs + 21% VAT.
I'm gonna feel this one. 😄

And thank you. I'm looking forward to getting it. :3

@ChrisFhey @empty My DDdy body just arrived! 2 days ahead of schedule; DHL has always been great here. $38 CAD in duties.

My first DD, I'm so excited!! It's going to take tremendous effort waiting until I finish my report writing for work to open her. @onion26@

That was quick! And not too bad on the customs duties, I'd say. :3

Mine's still on her way. According to B-post it'll take around 4 ~ 6 days for the parcel to arrive.

Congrats!! DHL let me know their ETA is this coming Monday for mine. I’ve had packages turn up sooner a few times but it’s usually accurate enough.

My clothing order arrived this afternoon, too! It went from '4 days away' to 'ARRIVING RIGHT NOW', which is something I'm not going to complain about.

Lately this seems standard for DHL. I think they are padding the delivery estimates because the pandemic has things so disrupted they can’t guarantee delivery times.

Might be the case, yes. I get the feeling a lot of delivery companies do that these days.
Often times a parcel would have a delivery estimate of 2 ~ 3 days (national delivery) but get here the next day already.

Also, on a related note, my parcel has apparently reached customs. That was bloody quick.
However, knowing Belgian customs it's going to be stuck there for a good while. 😅
