DD Compilation Book Faceup Guide

One of the features in the DD Compilation book is a guide for doing a DDH-01 faceup. It is all in Japanese, but the pictures are fun to look at. The translations are what I could get out of a rather shy Japanese scientist, Toshie-sensei. She is quite surprised that we are so interested in something that comes from Japan.

 

 

All the supplies you will need.

 

Start with a light color and then fill it in with a darker color. Be confident. If you are too nervous, the lines might not come out smooth.

 

The eyebrows are very important. They can completely change your daughter's look. Re-do them as much as you need to in order to get the look you want. In step 16, the artist is adding little pink lines on the cheeks like Moe, Mai, Airi, Yui, Mio, Erika, Feena, and others have. It is not necessary but can be cute. Light pink lips give your daughter a younger look. If you want a more "oneesan" (older sister) look, then use a darker pink.

 

Blush is not necessary but can give you a different look. Pink blush gives your daughter a younger look. If you want a more mature look, then use a more orange tint like Kyoko and Yumi. If you place the blush high on the cheeks, your daughter will look kind of shy. If you place the blush lower on the cheeks, she will look more mature.

And thank you for posting a semi translated version! I also liked looking at the pics but thought it would really be nice to be able to read it too. At least this gives me a better idea of what they are saying.

 

I am so happy they used an 01 head for this! I don't think that head sculpt gets nearly enuff attention as it should. I love it! But I am biased since Manami has the same head and was my first DD.
