New Bat-things on Insta stories today.

TL;DR: Besides Supergirl, Batgirl and Wondy, Harley and Power Girl also confirmed. Pic is preview of coming superhero girl (Batgirl? Unannounced? idk).

I’m assuming the teased girl is Batgirl due to how much Danny has shown of her in the works (like her clothes).  Plus I’m pretty Batgirl has red hair and green eyes!

I’m really excited for the potential of a Harley Smart Doll as well!

Confirmed... hee hee hee.  I definitely wouldn't put ANY stock in these mentions.  So far most of those names have been teased for YEARS and all we ever get are random "oh no I messed up and leaked something I shouldn't have!" photos of things in the background.  It would be nice to see all of them realized for sure but I wouldn't hold my breath on a single one personally.

I mean, I don't disagree, but I think we at least get Supergirl and Batgirl someday since we've already seen the dolls and outfits. Also, I'm giving him a pass for this year since covid f'ed a lot of manufacturing stuff up and the superheroines require specific outfits, plus they're licensed so I assume that means he can't pull his "one-day preorders" or "random grab bag releases" tricks and has to dedicate resources to making a proper preorder for them. 

(I just really want that Wondy, she was gorgeous...)

I tend to think he wouldn’t give release dates for stuff unless he was really going to release it. He talked about Shiki’s end of year release quite recently, so I expect she will be out around the time he said she would. Don’t know if we’ve ever been given release dates for the super hero’s?

Sometimes these things do feel like personal projects that he does just so he can make his own character doll.

For stuff that has no release date or timeline, and which he hasn’t mentioned in a long time? I wouldn’t hold my breath at this point either.

For sure, all manufacturers deserve some leeway on their release timelines because of Covid. Even if your facility isn’t shut down, the places you get supplies and materials from might not be running. If another place is running, it may be running under increased load from the closure of the first place.

I would like to think so but after what happened with the release of some of his licensed releases I really wouldn't count on it. *cough*Gourai*cough* 😅

Usually his limited characters sell out within minutes, so as soon as the page for that character goes up I would enter the email for notification for when the doll goes on stock and mad refresh that page if he happens to hint at a certain release time on social media. I would like it if he did what he did with Spike Speigel in which there was an initial release and then a short pre-order(?) period but I'm not expecting that either. It seems to be mixed which characters are a one time release and which are to be released in two batches. Previous releases seem like regular click war release batch no. 1 and batch no.2. Please correct me if I'm wrong, anybody.

My only concern would be if you had to have previously purchased on his page to be able to buy the licensed characters. The whole barring people from certain purchases seems to be a recent thing this year and I'm actually pretty nervous about it. IDK how to answer if I get an e-mail and I'll probably be confused. 'Because I like... Harley Quinn..?' 😂

I would assume a bunch of people who haven't brought SmD before would be coming just for the licensed characters, so it would seem rather silly to deny buyers for that reason.

(Then again, it also seems silly to me that he bars people from buying stuff in the first place...)

She appears to be carrying one of the new semi-real sculpts, which I truly hope she does.

All in all, despite I am not the biggest fan of that wabiwasabi stuff, she is DEFINITELY going to be mine.

I am truly excited for this!!

Ouch - but she is all Vinyl which I think will be nice for those who go for her as opposed to being a hybrid like Shiki.  (Very side observation but like… isn’t this the third-or fourth if you count the blue girls separately-major/high demand release in like a month and a half? First the blue girl, then shiki, then zombie blue, now this - my wallet hurts thinking about it.)

The pace is not going to slow down, I'm afraid. Thank the Maker I'm not into superheroes. Quote from Danny Choo:

Because of this, we have shifted our focus to release the other DC superheroines as soon as we can - rather than release loads of each character. So while there won't be many units to go around, I think it's important to continue working through the challenges of the pandemic and focus on releasing what we have promised so far - thus more variety over quantity.

For better or worse, I’m also not a collector of DC (or smartdoll in general - I’m chasing after DDBs and my first resin) but yeah, feeling for those who are, good luck you guys.  This also feels like the recipe for a nasty resale market though with all the weird buying policies who knows how that’ll turn out.

Am I the only one that prefers more quantity over variety? I wasn't invested in the DC characters, but I might have gotten a blue girl if they weren't all ninja click wars with little warning. I wish at least some of the releases could be like the Code Geass boys with a limited click war for immediate release plus a mini preorder for later release. 

No, Jezrah, you are NOT the only one! I missed the blue girl too, and I'm positive that I cannot catch one in future either. I'm not a ninja, after all... 😅

Same, I appreciate its not always practical but I’d much rather everything be made to order than click wars or lotteries - I’d rather everyone get the doll they want than be able to feel good about getting something super rare (between a click war and a lottery I’d take a lottery bc less stress, more fate but I can understand the opposite feeling there as well)

DD Ruler Jeanne d'Arc came with fullset armor and accessories for less than that lol.

Plus Ruler came with a unique sculpt while Supergirl just looks like a repaint of another smartdoll (I can't tell the sculpts/characters apart).

She looks like a kizuna or moment smart doll scuplt 

Being able to produce bigger batches is also what keeps the cost per doll lower.

WOW the list of reasons not to buy and requirements is insane 😱 Reading all that makes me glad I got out when I did. I wanted to get WW and Batgirl at one point but it got dragged out and I will for sure never buy them now. I mean what if you get the doll and decide it just isn't for you, you then can't buy another one? What if you sell it so you have funds to buy the new one coming that you think you will like more? Good luck to those people that have to sell to buy, or don't like the doll as much in person which will now prevent them from getting another doll. The extreme he has gone just seems ludacrist to me. In the beginning I understood and supported his customer isn't always right but now he has taken it to a whole other level that borders on psychotic IMO. Every time I think I may give it another chance I just have to come here and read stuff and realize that I am better off staying away. I am sure I am banned by now anyway as I have had around 40 of his dolls and sold them all.

Same exact thoughts crossed my mind. She looks like a standard SmD in a very expensive cosplay outfit.  

I can remember my old Star Wars action figures from the 70s, and they at least attempted to look like the actors. 

This is a really… petty?nitpicky? comment, but at that price it’d be nice if they’d matched the color of her doll stand (personally I’d make it navy) or at least made it red (to coordinate) since I’ve gathered the orange is to make it easy to see if you drop it on grass???  That bright orange is glaring.
