Your ideal head for a DD boy

In a hypothetical perfect world where Dream Choice could be available everywhere, which sculpt would you ideally choose to make a DD boy? Or maybe you’d even want to choose a D-Coord exclusive head or licensed character head? At any rate, which DD head(s) do you think would work best as a dude?

 

Not a debate thread or anything, I just wanted to have a lighthearted discussion and see people’s different preferences and ideas, and possibly suggest combinations to each other that we would’ve otherwise not thought of on our own! ^w^ So feel free to get weird with it 👍🏼
 

Personally I’ve lately been fascinated with the idea of a DDH-08 boy, which I haven’t seen done before but I think would be really cute! And I always love seeing the DDH-09 as a guy, it looks so good imo! 💙

DDH-09 or ddh-14

I have a preference for the two volks treats as their go to’s, 14 and 16.  I have a 14-02 and expect someday I’ll get 16-01 and 16-04.
 

That being said, I also like 7 - if I ever commission a custom boy I expect it’ll use this sculpt and I could see me doing a dream choice with it though probably in tan to soften the effect of the blushing.  

It depends on the age of the character. 

I have two 07 boys, and a DWC 02 boy, which I love. I would love to own a tan 16 boy some day. I agree that 14 and 09 are also good. I did see an 08 boy once and he was cute. I think he was in the painting and customizations board somewhere as someone's OC in anime form.

For younger boys, the limit is only your imagination. I'm working on a modded 01 head for an MDD boy, and I have an 05 for a DDP sized boy who uses the Obitsu 50cm boy body. (05 can be more grown up as well.) I think that really any head can make a good boy if they are younger and not yet mature. Just prepare for people to assume they're a girl if they have longer hair. 🤷‍♀️

I do have a couple of boys using limited heads, but I don't know if that falls within the scope of this discussion.

DCH-16, DDH-07, and DDH-09 for me. DDH-08 and DCH-14 are too cutesy for my tastes.

Will second that for a child boy character, many heads will work.  I recently moved my slightly moded (shaved off the chin) DDH-08 to a parabox 45 male body (with modded hand posts so I can stick on the large mdd hands) so he could be a little taller and I’m quite happy with him, but I could just as easily style him as a girl (I actually bounced back and forth between whether he was a girl or boy for a while since I got the head at random and hadn’t had a firm idea in mind, but I’m finally happy with where I’ve landed)

So far my favourite boy I've seen with any of the numbered heads was the 11 boy Volks posted on twitter to advertise the clothing items he had on. (He actually kind of inspired the direction I was going in for Meito)

But I don't even know if this combination is possible in DCoord, which 11 is exclusive to, so it seems cruel to show it lol.

tbh I think any of the DD heads work depending on what you want. With the super dollfies most of the full choice sculpts have male and female faceup options, and there are plenty of oneoffs of the other limited sculpts that reverse the original gender of the doll, so I don't see why anyone should think differently about the DDs, especially when there's so much variety with anime boys.

Ooh he is cute - second on the cruel to show it bc yeah, far as I know, they don’t use boy bodies for dcoord so this would take work to assemble 😫 

(but really, they should add boy bodies to dcoord bc they’d look cute in their own doll point uniforms)

Edit: Would agree that with the right face up, any sculpt could probably work but would say that unlike FCS, sometimes the face ups they offer for a head all lean more feminine, at least for my tastes.

IDK if it's "ideal", but I really want to make a DDH-21 dream choice when I go to Japan (hopefully) next year, and I'm very tempted to get it on a boy body and swap them onto a mochi later since I can just grab those off the webstore... 😅

anime faces are very androgynous so for me any DD head can work as a boy or girl. I'm waiting for a very girly head and I will make it into a boy. I think DDH-08 makes a cute boy.

 

 

My boy is a DDH-07. He isn't really the cute boy character with huge eyes. I wanted a more of a mature handsome bishounen look so that's why I picked DDH-07. I guess which head you'd pick would depend on what your doll's character is like.

Personally, I think that it really depends on if you're planning on keeping it as is or if you're going to get it customized. As is heads, I really like Sheryl Nome, Miku, DDH-16, DDH-14, Chinon, Uncho Kanu. 

But with that being said, I think that DDH-09 is usually a very feminine sculpt but with the right faceup it can be turned into an awesome masculine one. I feel like that can be done with any of the "girlier" heads like DDH-03 or even the Sailor Scouts.
