Dolls we're saying goodbye to (discontinuations)

I'm still on the fence about getting a blue girl, even with the discontinuation looming...which probably means I don't actually want one that as much as I love the idea of one. 😅

Hopefully this means he'll be ramping up production of that grey he teased soonish - now THAT one I REALLY want!

Yes, but although I would be willing to jump on a release directly from the main shop, with the current exchange rate the ones from Iris cost about $225 more. That's a lot of overhead, and I guess I'm just not willing to pay that much for a doll that I can never get option parts for and would also intend to wipe the faceup and change the wig and eyes. (Because zombies aren't bright blue, they're gray or maybe a very pale blue or green.)

Relentless cinnamon another one discontinued seconds after release. Hey, you had all of a week to save up! Urgh.

Seriously, Danny, if you're going to keep cancelling dolls as soon as they're out, why do you bother releasing them!

Independence cinnamon is going too. There's still a little stock of her, so get her while you can.

Cinnamon Starlight, Anomaly (human version), Monday, and Strength are going.

Dude seriously has it in for Strength. Second discontinuation for her. And this is the end of Monday, I guess? Anomaly isn't a surprise, as she was a kinda afterthought of the blue version. Shame about Starlight though, because she's cute and ngl would have been perfect for customising.

Sigh.

Edit: if anyone knows which dolls share Starlight's head sculpt, please let me know. I don't have money to blow on Danny's whims since I just bought Utena.

More dolls are going soon apparently, and if it's like last time, chances are some that have been recently restocked are going. Just in case, be prepared if you wanted any of the dolls in the most recent restock posted to twitter. 😓

I was aiming to get one of his blue dolls as my first one. It was always out of stock and when I talked to him that even though I don't have money I will find a way to get it. He replied, I don't think this is the doll for you then. Not sure if it was a translation error or not but made me feel weird.

I still want a blue skin doll to make an elf 😄 Will be saving a while again now. Lets hope he keeps these colors around before discontinuing them all.

I don’t think it was a translation error—IIRC he grew up in the UK, so he meant what he said. It’s up to you, of course, but if someone said that to me, I’d take my money elsewhere. If you really need a blue Smart Doll, maybe you can try looking for one secondhand?

I found one on ebay like a week ago before I bought the parabox girl but they wanted like $900...too much for me.

Back in the Figure.fm days, he had posted a few videos, both about his "Dancing Stormtrooper" and starting up the SmartDoll line. 

His English is perfect, so, there's no misunderstanding from his side of your communications. 

If you haven't already, I'd recommend reading the "FaceBook debacle" and "Toxic Smart Doll Community" threads here, to get a better "view" of his shenanigans toward folks he "encourages" to not buy his products.

There are Instagram and Facebook communities that do have sales threads for SmD, but "Buyer Beware" 

(Both Mr. Shoe and his rabid sycophants follow these (Esp. the DollDreaming) threads like they have nothing better to do.) 

If you're feeling creative, there's tips and links to tutorials on dyeing a vinyl floating around the forums, also. 

That way, you aren't limited as far as sculpts, or body size/style, either.

I believe Mei was only released as an option head. The instagram post that introduced her, Wonder, Power, and Perseverance mentioned that they were planning on starting to sell option bodies in January 2023. However, they might hold off on that until the release of the new frame. We might see a full-doll release then. 

You can get her head from the official store in both Cinnamon and Tea, just scroll down and select it. However, if this is your first purchase it might be rejected  "due to the hassle some newbies gave us.". 

The Cinnamon head is also available through Fabric and Friends and Anime Sugoi has both versions in stock.

Thanks! I ended up buying her option head because I couldn't find any info on her, but I was insanely curious. I hope this was the right thread to ask, sorry if not. Orz
