Luden333 Posted June 27, 2021 So me still waiting for my first Dollfie in the mail and now searching for some older Dollfies Ive seen and wanting to buy them on Mandarake and EBay… Sorry for run on sentence. Is there a proper way to find out the legitimacy of a dollfie when I’m shopping around? Are there certificates that come with dolls that prove this? Help is appreciated thanks
OccultBeast Posted June 27, 2021 (edited) Dollfie Dreams don't come with certificates of authenticity the way resin BJDs do, because it's very expensive to make vinyl dolls vs being pretty cheap comparatively to recast a resin doll. The only known bootleg versions of Dollfie Dreams are Snow Miku and one of the Saber versions*, so if you're looking for anyone other than those two, you're safe! If you're buying one from Mandarake, you don't have to worry, as they will only take in legitimate products, and would definitely notice if a DD is bootleg. If you're looking on eBay and the listing doesn't have a photo of the actual doll and box/package, just ask the seller for a few photos. If they're not willing to take photos, don't bother with them in the first place. Also just be hesitant of using eBay in the first place, DDs are almost always way overpriced on there vs what you'll pay for the same item from Mandarake. Edit to add: *It's the DDS Saber/Altria Pendragon that has been illegally copied. Here's the official Volks page for her. abs2891 Posted June 27, 2021 (edited) D’Coord and dolls made using Dream Choice actually do come with certificates of authenticity, but they’d be the exception. Imagine that unless bootlegs become a major issue like they are with resin it’ll stay that way. You can see a dcoord COA in the listing here: https://order.mandarake.co.jp/order/detailPage/item?itemCode=1149285916&ref=list&keyword=ディーコード Edited June 27, 2021 by abs2891
