Deinbeck Posted January 29, 2012 Hello all, I just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. I hail from the Greater Toronto area in Ontario, Canada. I`m a long-time fan of animation, comics, and video games. I stumbled across BJD`s in general a few years ago and was fascinated. I had seen Dollfie Dreams before, but I wasn`t convinced the first few times I saw them. I was absolutely creeped out by some of the older head molds TBH, lol. I`m pretty sure it was a picture of Yuki Morikawa that really sparked my interest and got me looking actively (she should be the DD mascot imo ). The community, with your creativity, and fantastic photography really helped me make up my mind and just buy one. I have Noumi here with me. I have the 2 new Sabers and Ms. Mariko otw (which I might, or might not keep... heads up ) I`m interested in customization, and will probably try my hand at face-ups in the near future. I`m hoping I`ll get some mileage out of this hobby, but time will tell I suppose I`m also on Flickr as =Deinbeck= (I couldn`t get my name for some reason, rarely happens...) I think that`s about it. lol. HI!
misskale Posted January 29, 2012 Hello! It's interesting how many people from Toronto there are on the boards here. (Note, I am not from Toronto, but I lived there for 6 years. >_<)

PrettyCranium Posted January 30, 2012 Hi, and welcome! Lots of Toronto people here. I'm in SW Ontario, so a little too far away for meet ups (sadly).
baldylox Posted January 30, 2012 Well, it looks like Toronto is the place to be for Canadian DD goodness! Welcome aboard! I'm sure you'll enjoy the people here and have a good time! Billy I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop.
PlasticFantastic Posted January 30, 2012 Hi, and welcome! Lots of Toronto people here. I'm in SW Ontario, so a little too far away for meet ups (sadly). If you came up for an event like Anime North I'm sure we could figure SOMETHING out! And yes! There are many users here that hail from the 416! In fact if you go to the Meet ups section you'll see we even organize time to spend together and be silly while eating food and taking gratuitous amounts of photos! It's probably because most of the people here are basically concentrated around the GTA, hehe. I actually lived in the city and just moved to Whitby recently. Not liking it I must say. Oh boring suburbia, how I hate you
PrettyCranium Posted January 30, 2012 I used to live in Toronto too, but I prefer the less-busy London (Ontario). Except I miss the shopping in Downtown Toronto, and that there was always something going on . . . Don't miss the crush of people on the TTC!

Feb 18th in North Toronto - details are in this thread - viewtopic.php?f=12&t=1913 and you're more than welcome to join us I'd really like to! I make socially awkward look like an art-form I just need to get over this PETRIFYING FEAR of being seen in public with my not-so-action-figure-like loli doll! I'm hoping Hatsune Miku will one day come crashing from the sky, land on top of the Royal York, give a bad ass concert that will be on the nightly news, and all of a sudden every grown ass adult in town will 'get' my hobbies

PF is right - if you're not comfortable bringing your doll with you, just bring yourself! Think of it as meeting some like-minded people that like anime, DD's, figures, and having some cake and tea! From what I recall, we've booked the a "private room", so I don't think you'll have to worry about people staring, but since I've never been there before I don't know if it's a separate room, or if it's a big nook in the corner for us. (Although, strangers staring and politely asking questions is one of my fav parts of public doll meets ) Archangeli.net | Twitter: @MsArchangeli | YouTube: Archangeli
