How do you all Display your Dolls?

Recommended Posts

i understand many use glass cases, such as the ever popular "DETOLF"

for my own part, i've a cheap MDF bookshelf that collects the majority of my Anime-related character figures and dolls;

Stuff like this.  The first two pictures show wire storage cubes (which are REALLY hard to find anymore), while the second shows a cheap chrome shelving unit sold for using in the kitchen.  Both came mostly from Wal-Mart.  I also have dolls standing all over both desks, on the tops and edges of bookshelves, and over on the storage chest in the corner.

A while back I purchased an IKEA "Fabrikor" metal and glass display cabinet, because I liked the retro-industrial aesthetics of the design, with the intent to use it for a rotating display of figures, but I have yet to get around to assembling it. Nearly everything is either stored away in plastic tote tubs, or piled in disarray on my work table.

Good old reliable bookshelves from Wal-Mart. My collection is only a single shelf at the moment, the rest of the bookshelf is filled with my books/games/figures. I need to install a curtain so that the sun stays off my dolls when I open up the windows in this room though.

I try to keep most of my dolls behind glass to save them from getting dusty or otherwise damaged.

I personally keep my dolls displayed in smaller groups on standing shelves or surfaces of furniture where I think they will be safe. I have around 30 dolls and looking at them all in one place is just too much for me, and will set off my anxiety for whatever reason, so I tend to pepper them throughout my house. They do get dusty outside of a glass case, but that's just not my style and it's easy enough to dust them off periodically.

Thank you! I'm excited to be active again. I am really looking forward to sharing pics, however I don't really host anything except portfolio pics on Flickr anymore so I'm waiting for gallery access because I believe we can upload images directly? (I really hope so lol)

Yep!  You can upload to the site and share in the posts you make.  All you need to do is hit 30 posts!

I recently built an ikea pax unit with a door like the one above! I wanted something that would work for both storage and display, and it ended up being the perfect solution.

The shorter door I wanted isn't sold anymore, just the 7.5 foot version (maybe in other countries it's still available?), but I got lucky and found one secondhand! A display case that tall would look pretty cool, though.

I display mine on the top shelf of our china hutch cabinet. I don’t have a lot of space, so it helps keep my collection curated and saves me money. I have a lot that my mom collected and gave to me. I don’t know what material they are made of. The one in the front is my Marmite Sue, and the MSD does not currently fit, so she and a lot more are in a closet. I’d like to do something tasteful in my bedroom but my husband is afraid of dolls haha so we only have one vintage china doll on my dresser that I promise not to move.
