Galvatim Posted March 7, 2011 It's odd that Volks hasn't released the sixth MDD hand type, Louise's gripping hands, as an option part...
baldylox Posted March 7, 2011 Mitsuki, you sure seem to be having a great time with your scanner and DD Compilation book. I really like some of those newer eyes they have. Whenever I get around to doing the new girl with the DDI body, I will make sure to get some of those blue eyes for her. Billy I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop. baldylox Posted March 21, 2011 I was recently talking to a friend about this and figured this was a decent place to ask or at least complain... Why has Volks not released DDdy parts yet as spares? All they offer is the standard and Shapely busts, that's it. Why have they not seen fit to add the torsos, thighs and legs yet? I think the arms and feet are the same as the DDII so that's no worry. We all know the hands fit them all too. But why nothing else? It doesn't make sense to me really. If they are making clothing that they know stains, they know people will be buying replacement parts for their girls. Why not have ALL the parts available? Wouldn't you want to have those available so you can make more money? I need Volks manufacturing phone number so I can call them and tell them to hurry up with this! mitsuki Posted March 21, 2011 I totally agree! For example, the thigh parts are so different and not interchangeable. I also want the Sirius/Kyoko/Yumi and Moe/Natsuki face molds as standard options.
jun97 Posted March 21, 2011 I also want the Sirius/Kyoko/Yumi and Moe/Natsuki face molds as standard options. Agreed, more face molds would be good. With face up already would be even better.

baldylox Posted March 22, 2011 Thats a really good idea about more face molds. I mean, we only have four so far and there are SO many ways to make them different. With more blank heads available, that would make even more things possible. I wonder who gets to make these decisions over at Volks? We need their fax machine number! MaxArcher Posted March 22, 2011 I think everybody is hoping for more face molds. I was in Volks over the weekend and was amazed (and jealous!) of the immense variety of heads available to SD buyers. (I was also a bit scared because I saw some I sort of liked, haha.) I wish they'd stock more hands, they're really hard to get. baldylox Posted March 22, 2011 I wish they'd stock more hands, they're really hard to get. Unfortunately it's not just Volks USA who has trouble keeping hands in stock. When I was over in Japan last September, I went to four Volks stores and all of them had a limited selection of hands. Volks Osaka did have one of each set available so I grabbed all of those. But I wanted 3 sets of the closed fist hands as well as 3 sets of gripping hands. Even after being in that many stores, I had to leave Japan without the extra sets of gripping hands. I wound up getting them later thru a friend. I am not sure why they don't stock more hands though. It's not like they are expensive pieces to keep. Hopefully they'll restock quickly for you so you can get what you need. Billy I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop. baldylox Posted March 22, 2011 I wish Volks would just include all the hands with each Dollfie. Then again, the price would probably go up... You're absolutely right on both counts. Having all the hands with each would be great. But that would also jack the price up by $100 or so easily. Which really wouldn't be so bad since we would wind up buying the hands separately anyway. Why not pay it up front and not worry with more orders later and wondering when they'll have them in stock? This would especially be nice with the character DD's. We're paying a premium for them anyways so what's another $100 for all sets of hands? Unless of course you're just starting out in this hobby. If I was buying a base body and doing a custom girl, I know being forced to pay extra for hands may bug me especially if I could have used that money to pay for a wig and eyes. But since Volks isn't doing this, all my speculation and pros and cons don't really mean much. Billy I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop. In just the past month or three, DDs have gone from Volks's little side thing to an explosively popular product that's breaking all their sales records. The staff even seemed shocked at the sudden huge popularity of the DDs. DD Beatrice - DD Saber/EXTRA

In just the past month or three, DDs have gone from Volks's little side thing to an explosively popular product that's breaking all their sales records. The staff even seemed shocked at the sudden huge popularity of the DDs. Was this at the LA store? I know at 3 of the 4 stores I visited in Japan, the DD's had a large area devoted to them and accessories. I have not visited the LA store so I have no idea how their setup is in relation to the Japanese stores. I'm extremely glad to hear that the DD's are gaining popularity and making Volks money. If that keeps up, maybe we will see more and more things offered for them. That would sure be nice. Thanks for that info! scripple Posted March 23, 2011 I haven't had too much trouble getting the hands form the Volks USA webstore. They seem to get a restock in every month or two and post about it on one of their two blogs. I've picked up a set of each type and a few extra sets of the fists and gripping hands. I recommend if you're looking for any of the option parts and you're in the USA just check the two blogs they have and when they mention a restock go try to order the parts you want. They often restock more parts than they mention in the blog posts. Check out my new DollFun website. Share your own doll photos with free image hosting. mitsuki Posted March 23, 2011 That's how I get my hands. If you check for re-stocks and get them right away after the announcement, you can generally get what you are looking for.

Their setup isn't bad, they've got enough space (about two 36" wide full-height shelves) dedicated to DD parts and a third that's mostly DD wigs but also has eyes and some other stuff. They also have "featured item" space or whatever you want to call it that has limited and new items for DDs and SDs. DD Beatrice - DD Saber/EXTRA

There may have been a bit more space for the accessories like outfits and shoes in the Japanese stores but they still sound like the main layout is close. I really wish I could have taken pictures in those stores as their large glass cabinets had the coolest displays of DD's I've ever seen. The Akihabara store had a giant case at least 8 feet wide and 5 feet tall FULL of DD's all dressed up. So many girls that I have never seen in person and only in pics online. I know I let out a "squee" or two in the stores.... You're lucky that you can visit a Volks store easily. I wish I had one near me.... MaxArcher Posted March 24, 2011 I just happened to be in town for other business, actually. LA's six hours away. I probably won't have the chance to go to Volks again until summer at the least. (I'm going down there next month but it's for work and there's nothing I need at Volks right now anyway.) DD Beatrice - DD Saber/EXTRA

Still, 6 hours away is a lot better than being on a different coast. And the last Volks store I hit is only a short 13 hour flight from me.....LOL Billy I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop.
