abs2891 Posted July 6, 2021 This is the second time I’ve had a volks item do this to me when I’ve used oxyclean on a piece of clothing that looked dingy and I’m just wondering if it’s normal? It washes away no problem but not gonna lie, the first time it happened, my heart stoped for a second.

I actually had my Miku default outfits cause black stains on my Miku’s after I stored the outfits in with the black Saber Maid outfit that is notorious for causing stains, even from second hand contact. The maid outfit shed particles of material into the other outfits and those small bits of material stained the dolls. The difference between Dollfie Dreams and Heroin? Heroin is illegal, Dollfie Dreams probably should be. “Empty wallets, full hearts.” That’s probably an apt description for the effects of DD addiction
OccultBeast Posted July 6, 2021 I'm pretty sure this is a chemical reaction! Something that Volks must use in production (perhaps to draw the parts before cutting, a stabilizer, etc) is reacting with the Bleach in Oxiclean to turn it pink. I think metals are the most common reactant for colour changes like this, but lots of things can cause it. You can find this happening a lot if you Google it! Normally it can be washed back out, though it can keep happening repeatedly on the same pieces.

Since it’s along the seams it definitely could be something that they cut or mark with. At least I now know to expect it. Cream lace turning neon pink can give quite the shock haha (I did try googling to see if I could find an exact reaction as the culprit but getting drowned out by poor people who accidentally washed their reds and white together, which, also been there once haha) Edited July 6, 2021 by abs2891

That saber outfit definitely seems to have been made by someone who wanted to see every doll stained

Tierparkzone Posted July 6, 2021 Could it be, they use starch to stiffen up the fabric and this then reacts with your bleach similar to a starch test reaction? Photo Story - Photo Thread - make your own signature like this
