baldylox Posted July 11, 2021 This is long overdue but I finally got around to posting photos of a doll meet we had out at Botany Bay Plantation near Edisto Beach SC. There's a driving trail around the plantation that we hit after the beach area but since we went to the beach first, that's where we'll start. You park about a half mile from the actual beach and walk to it. This is not your typical beach tho. It makes for a really different kind of landscape. She looked lovely out there in the sun! It came with the hoodie and denim shorts. The shoes are some random plastic ones from some other doll brand that just happen to fit the DD girls nicely and work with this yellow bikini. It was indeed a great day out! Don't be concerned, the sun doesn't do any damage for the few hours we were out there. As for the salt water, as soon as we got back to the cars we used bottled water to rinse them off and then when we got to my house we took them apart and rinsed them again, then hand toweled them dry. Edisto is just a bit past this place but it's also very nice. Edisto is just a regular sandy beach tho. Botany Bay is on the left a few miles before you get to Edisto, it's on the same road to Edisto so it's easy to find. If you go there make sure you share pics of your doll out there! Sadly, I live at least 3 hours from the nearest Great Lakes shore, and at least 6 hours or more from any actual ocean beaches, so I haven't been to any at all in 10 years. I think we saw around 40 to 50 people in the span of about 4 hours so not bad at all. That sucks you're so far form any shorelines but hey, put it on that list and maybe you'll make it one day soon! Jolene is an outdoor girl so she was definitely blushed to look like that. I'm glad you picked up on that! The beach is really neat and one of only a few like it near me. Most are very touristy so it's nice to escape all the people and enjoy things untouched. Billy I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop. I thought so too altho I do admit I wasn't sure when I picked her to come out for the day. But once I had her on the beach, she just BEAMED. And you know that Volks photos suck! Thank you so much! Natural light is the key and knowing what angles to get to show the girls off best helps. I do ZERO editing on my photos so what you see is what the camera saw and took. I use an older Nikon D5300 and sometimes a D60 if I'm not doing any video. Both are great cameras and are easy to use. Since digital film is cheap ( ha ha! ) I take a ton of pics and then choose the best ones of the group. Normally for every photo I keep, I'm deleting 10-15 others. It's best to take as many as possible so you always have a good chance of getting that one awesome shot. 😉 Billy I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop.
