Dollfie Icon - Faceup Removal?

Does anyone know if the factory faceup on a Dollfie Icon can be wiped without damaging the pearly glow coating on the vinyl? I have one coming in soon and am not 100% in love with the face from the promotional pictures, but I don't want to cause any damage unintentionally.

Apologies in advance for any scandal this idea causes, btw. I know customizing a very limited doll like this can cause heart attacks in onlookers sometimes, considering what I've seen from Smartdoll communities. This is just to see if it's possible, I haven't 100% decided on doing it or not. ^^;

You don’t need to worry about such overreactions here. Modding and changing limited faceups has been a cornerstone of the DD community since the early days (my two Lens have custom faceups, and I’ve been considering one for 9S…I actually see more pictures of 9S with a custom faceup than his default, actually!) and Icons are no exception.

From what I hear, wiping the face won’t damage anything, so I would go for it! Making the doll unique and your own is one of the most fun things about this hobby and I would love to see more modded Icons around.

Here's another icon that's been repainted. I don't think it's super common since icons aren't common, but it's certainly encouraged and not frowned upon in the hobby at all! You can see how she's retained all of her shimmer, too.

I think that’s my favorite Icon face up.

The entire body has the Pearly Glow shimmer mixed into the vinyl, so this can't be removed.  However, the factory faceups do include extra glittery shimmer, which would be removed with the faceup, but you can just as easily replace it with something like ZM Shine Pearl or Pearl Ex Powder.

Oh, good! I actually scoured the icon tag on instagram right after I bought my girl and couldn't find any custom ones! I'm glad others have been customizing them, and fairly easily too, from the looks of it. Thanks everyone! ^^
