Making an office chair for my Angel Philia dolls (WIP)

Recommended Posts

XOHimitsuOX

I always wanted a chair for my dolls. I tried many years ago but didn't have much success, also didn't have a 3D printer then. So, i just thought to try again, this time in Angel Philia scale. Designing it only took a day or so with a a few tweaks here and there. However printing all the parts took days, with couple of failed prints, wasting hours and filament. All i have left to do is filling in imperfections then sanding (the least enjoyable part), painting and doing the cushions.

Looks good so far. 👍 Love the detailing and the cushion looks great.

Is your filament TPE or ABS?

Finished making the office chair, it's a little bit rough around the edges. But it will do.

Looks great, the chair looks really realistic like it was made for humans and not dolls!

Wonderful! It came out really nice! Maybe the armrests are a little too little?

The final result looks great. 😁

Curious to know if you keep it like this or that you ad some paint. Either way, this is a gorgeous chair.

Maybe it's the angle of which the photo was taken that makes it look smaller, here's a side view

LOL I did paint it, with white paint, however I didn't have enough paint. I was thinking of using silver, but wasn't sure if it would look tacky or not.

Not sure if I should make another with black material or try to make a gamer chair 😕

Mmmh you're right.

What misled me was the position of the doll's arm. normally when a person sits down, the arms form a 90° angle on the armrests, while in this case the arms are inclined downwards, but it also depends on the position, which is anything but composed.

However, it is a small detail. The chair is, as said, wonderful. I have a similar office chair in 1/6 scale, I'd like a 1/3 chair, but 1/3 props tend to occupy a lot of space unfortunately.

Having installed cushions and panels in RVs using foam and fabric, I'm highly impressed how you've made such smaller cushions so tight and neat!

Well done!!

The chair looks amazing in Gold/black. I honestly like this colorscheme much more than the white one. 👍😁😀

Absolutely impeccable color scheme, if I do say so myself. I honestly love both color schemes, though. Fantastic design work! The final product is so impressive - polished & professional looking.

GASP! This is exactly what I want to do also! lmao I was gonna have my girl sitting like that too! It turned out really really good though! Nothing some 80 grit sandpaper won't bust through. I print in PETG and I start off with 80 to rip down the print lines. Then go in with maybe a 120 and then a 200. It's not too labor intensive.

Now if you want to do chrome you have to get it it super smooth so definitely get a filling primer or a thin putty. Get Spaz Stix mirror chrome paint and the Spaz Stix black. Spray the black on first make sure it's gloss smooth. Then spray on the chrome lightly. it will give you a nice mirror like chrome if done right.

Here's a youtube vid for reference. hxxps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lwLqMxeFS0o&ab_channel=BarbatosRex

PS, where did you get the screws and can you do a tut on making the cushions? I can only hope mine would come out even barely close to yours that is so good it looks store bought.
