Today's Cosplay Rin: Shining Hearts Airy

Today on episode 3 of Cosplay Rin, Rin-chan dresses as another Dollfie Dream girl for the first time: Airy!

 

Because Volks clothes are so well-made, they are some of Rin-chan's favorites for doing cosplay. Sometimes she's so lucky as to acquire the default outfits of other DDs from other parents, and that is what you see today. Airy's outfit is a very form-fitting white mini dress with a nicely contrasting dark blue overcoat. There are four looks (and a secret) of Airy that Rin would like to show you today.

 

First up is the softer side. Airyn has acquired a plush cat and can't put it down! Not only does she keep snugging it, she also wants to take it with her adventuring.

 

 

 

Although Airy herself looks every bit a nun, it turns out that the very same outfit has a strong military feel on Airyn. The salute was the first pose she did. LB, Rin-chan salutes you!

 

 

Oh, oh, what have we here? Third up I think we have found the REAL secret to how Airyn makes those loaves of bread for her shop.

 

 

Lastly, we have angry Airyn's reaction to her trade secrets being revealed. Ow, be careful who you bop with your book! (don't hurt the audience!)

Haha, I thought the same thing after getting the full outfit on! Not only does it look short, it really is. The dress ever-so-barely covers her pantsu, and that's it. (it's the same fit on Airy, although it doesn't look it)

 

I bet it's the socks I put on that make the skirt look so much shorter. Seeing that little bit of skin on her thighs draws your attention, and your foreknowledge of how high those thigh-highs are fills in the rest.

 

Airyn: "Hey! You know I'm going to have to just stand here now, right? No way I can sit down in this, on anything.."

 

Me: "That's why the outfit is from an RPG. You're supposed to go breadmaking and adventuring, not couch-potatoing. "

 

But who is this mysterious little kitty? He looks so wide-eyed!

He is a cute plushie of Kutsusita Nyanko, a character made by San-X company of Japan! In reality he is a human-size finger puppet I got from a gachapon machine, but he is also the perfect size to be a DD's cuddly plushie so Rin, erm, adopted him from me right away. He showed up in this photoshoot because Rin didn't want to put him down, having just gotten him the day before. I don't know if Airy likes critters, but I hope she does so it's still in character ^_^;.

 

San-X also makes Rilakkuma and other cute animal-based characters you may have seen, then puts them on notebooks, plushies, crane game prizes, and the like.

Definitely do! It was a different look than I originally expected, but I am quite pleased with the result.

 

That's one thing I hope to do with this Rin series.. show how the default outfits of many DDs compare when worn by a totall different girl. Sometimes the results will be as we expect, and other times it will be surprising! I've gotten ahold of several default outfits by now, but there are still a ton that Rin is hoping to buy or borrow one day.

Oh hoh, nothing slips by you, Carmen! It is Rin's first/only piece of doll furniture. Saber Alter II's promo pictures on that couch made me really want them both. One sure did arrive a lot quicker than the other though ^_^;.
