DD KAITO

I had always expected a May delivery so I'm not really surprised. The wait hasn't been that hard on me, but I'm not sure if I would feel the same if he was meant to ship in fall you know, count your blessings and all that. I do hope there are no unforeseen delays though!

I keep seeing people complaining (ie on myfigurecollection, where it seems like there were people who expected him to ship on 0:01 when March started) but this wait has felt short enough for me that I’m not bothered - probably because most PO project dolls take twice as long as this. But it's pretty much the same for me, it feels like time has gone by rather fast since I've been busy with real life responsibilities. May release would work out great for me personally, since the weather should be better by then and I'll be starting my summer holiday in June, so there will be plenty of time to dedicate to Kaito. ❤️ Not that I mind if they decide to release him earlier... XD

All I can say, is that a May release is not long for me at all.  After waiting for 9S, after all the stuff that went down in Japan, I am pleased and impressed that Volks was able to get back into production so quickly…

They're probably up to their eyes in making Kaitos. His preorder window seemed a lot longer than it was open for Rin/Len.

I did recently get my 4 bricklink designer program Lego sets I ordered back in May 2022. They were well worth the wait! Ironically the instructions were really difficult to find online.

Kaito's order period was longer because he was the yearly unlimited preorder project, whereas Rin and Len were just a release that happened to allow for limited preordering, like with Sailor Jupitor and Luka.

Not gonna lie, I'm pretty impatient to get Kaito myself. But that's more because I get birthstone jewelry for everyone and May's birthstone is emerald which doesn't fit Kaito at all, IMO. However April's (diamond) and June's (pearl) are fine. So yeah that pretty much the only reason. If i may speculate a bit, it's also possible that the reason the people on MFC are so impatient is also because they've never preordered from Volks, so they're not used to the waiting times or have a general sense of when Volks does their releases. Tbh, this is my first pre-order from Volks(the rest of my dolls either stock or pre-owned) and i do feel a bit antsy not having a release month to get a more specific time frame. "Spring" feels a bit too general, but I get why it's more general than a specific month.

Got my payment email as well. I was able to pay off the Senbonzakura outfit set but it's not going through for Kaito, probably need to call my credit card company in the morning in case it's getting flagged as a suspicious transaction.

I didn’t expect to hear about the delivery over a month in advance but it’s nice to have a hard date! Right at the end of spring lol but that’s actually perfect for me to get him in June.

I’m just as excited to see all the photos/customs of other peoples as I am to get my own.

I paid 9100 jpy for shipping. 53300 jpy total for doll and shipping.

The shipping + tax fees on mine was ¥11300 🥲 so it’s a good thing I saved extra in advance to account for any exchange rate fluctuations that could’ve happened /extra fees I didn’t know about! I’m hoping the expensive shipping just means he’ll arrive super fast tho haha

Same here. The charge of my credit card was $403.76 plus the foreign fee. The deposit was about $226 including the foreign fee. So I’m not complaining over all was cheaper ordering from JP than the US site.

Wow ok I retract what I said, I only paid 7750 jpy, not too bad compared to other members. However I'm located in Belgium and I'll most probably have to pay customs (21% of the total value paid to Volks) on top of everything. 😶‍🌫️

Is there any way to combine the shipping on his Senbonzakura outfit and the doll itself? I have a good feeling there isn't, but it would make things much easier on the wallet if there was haha 🥲

It's so annoying that they didn't have an option to just throw it in the Kaito box.

I was relieved that the final payment for the outfit wasn't too expensive. I'm not sure I even want it now, although my girls *will* give Kaito himself an amazing welcome!

The boxes are set sizes, usually there’s no space for anything else, especially not a bulky outfit set with shoes (or boots). When these POs ship they try to get them all out the door ASAP in a manner as streamlined as possible, because the inventory undoubtedly takes up a lot of (limited, especially in Japan) warehouse space. Having to change the boxes for certain orders would potentially slow things down. I get that it’s frustrating but Kaito’s box is already gigantic (if it’s like Meiko’s which is even bigger than Miku/Rin/Len/Luka’s, which were also huge to begin with).

Paid off KAITO! Now the wait to welcome him home begins! ♥

Volksusa won't be releasing him till later so I have time.
