DD KAITO

I had always thought the main purpose of the reboots was to put the DDIII vocaloid/Piapro dolls on the f3 bodies, which is the main reason I don’t expect one for Kaito/Meiko/Sakura Miku for a long time. Maybe when there’s a new DD frame?(although then Volks would kind of be stuck in the pattern of rereleasing them every time the frame changes…) I would expect Luka long before anyone else solely because she’s the only one still on the DDIII, and they don’t seem to like doing the rereleases too close together. It probably also depends how well they did in the recent rerelease polls.

Kaito has the sweetest sculpt to me, something about his face is very gentle in a way I think a lot of male doll sculpts are. Collab dolls in general are a biiit out of my price range, but I hope the non-Miku Vocaloids get more releases, they're all so cute! I love Miku, but it feels like you can't shake a stick without hitting a new Miku announcement.

I really love my Kizuna. She has slightly puffy cheeks like a hamster or a girl who just got her wisdom teeth removed. I need to redress mine as I'm not sure her current look is working out for her.

Back to Kaito and I haven't really bonded with my Kaito. He doesn't look quite right in girlie outfits (like Len does) and I've not yet figured out who to dress him as. I suppose I could dress him as Kaito, and definitely would have done if our doll YouTube channel hadn't fizzled out.

What I do find interesting is there was such a long pre-order for Kaito but now there's apparently none at all on Mandarake.

As to vocaloids... I'm still a noob but Gumi and Teto are super popular. Hmmm, I'm not sure even if Teto is a legit Vocaloid but she frequently appears in my YouTube recommendations.

I totally agree! Kaito has such a sweet, kind face. Most male dolls look grumpy or sad to me, but Kaito, with his gentle expression, truly captured my heart. He looks like an absolute sweetheart, which really sets him apart from other boy dolls in my eye.

The boxers that kaito come with. Is there a chance of them staining?

Yes! I haven't had this issue on my Kaito's body (never put his boxers on & have him in full body suit just in case), but I have seen and heard of other Kaito owners having this issue. I would just leave them off if you are worried about them.

Snap, I didn't even think about it. I'll have to check mine now; he's been wearing those boxers since he ate my wallet at LA Dolpa start of September. 

Anybody know where to get DD size tighty whities? Probably the most accurate option for this mama's boy.

thanks! it struck me as odd they gave kaito darker boxers when len has white.

So I was wondering, at the very least, it's DD safe but seems not ^^".

Dunno about tighty whities, but Volks does do boxers for boys on rare occasions.

I think I might have an Ali Express order in my future, I did find some tighty whities there. And I have some beige thread that should be fairly safe to embroider his name onto them lololol

Happy Dolls Plus does them, but good luck finding those outside conventions. Whenever that manufacturer shows up on Mandarake, their products are snapped up really quickly (they make definitely non-staining darkly coloured clothing, too).

HDP makes everything to order, so you don’t need to wait for a convention or hope their products surface on Mandarake. Just shoot them an email and they’ll make it for you in a week or two (idk if they ship outside Japan tho).

In the FAQ on their website, they said they can take orders from foreign countries. Someone who doesn't live in Japan in a Discord server I'm in was able to order and receive their items from HDP. Its just that they only take payment from bank transfer, so payment with paypal is not possible. That maybe a deal breaker to some, especially if you've never done payment with bank transfer before and feel a bit intimidated by it.

👆 TierParkZone has also mentioned international orders through the site. Alternatively though, if direct bank transfer bothers you, some proxies also accept links from small shopfronts. I can confirm that ZenMarket takes them, as Alchemic Labo (Unoa BJD) has them as an official overseas partner, and I did have Unoa parts in my cart through them with no problem. I never ended up purchasing, but I've used ZenMarket before and always found them smooth and reliable. (Although I've never had a problem order through any proxy.) Alchemic Labo also lists Noppin- which they had a storefront on for years- and Tenso as well, so those are options. I've never personally used either, but they've both been established for a while.

The problem with international bank transfer is that depending on the country you live in there may be extra fees. Also, for paying the fees there are two models: either the sender pays all, or the fee gets split between sender and receiver. With some banks you can choose between the two, but sometimes that is impossible (which is a problem if the only option is "split fees").

The black waistband on those might be a problem

I think those Gray boxers are what Kaito comes with (or at least they look similar)
