Yeah I don't know what was up with the cancellation rumour, it confused me a lot. I don't think I've ever seen Volks cancel a doll that they have announced. Well, sometimes it might take longer until they're ready for the official release and they don't give updates during that period, but yeah... for people to say Kaito was cancelled without any official statement from Volks was quite weird tbh. ^^; I can only think that the rumour was started by someone who isn't very familiar with Volks and the way that they go about doll releases.

I'm so curious to see his face, I really hope that he looks similar to the other Vocaloids. ;-; I didn't have worries about his face until Volks released the DDH-26 head, which reminds me way too much of another brand's dolls... like, I've been waiting for more mature looking DD boys but DDH-26 is not a direction I want Volks to take with their boys. I know that they can do better, and hopefully Kaito will show us that. xD

Apparently it's rather unfortunately common for KAITO's figures to get cancelled, so I think it was that paired with people not understanding how Volks works, coming to the final assumption that he'd been cancelled since we hadn't seen/heard anything about him in so long.  But of course that wasn't the case.

I'm already encouraged seeing that his coat isn't made out of doom material, though!  That undershirt and his pants are gonna stain like nobody's business, but please... just let him be beautiful...

I personally won't be buying Kaito (too many DDs in a year OTL)
But I do hope he turns out amazing! If Volks does a good job and he's really popular
I hope it'll encourage Volks to release more character male based DDs!
(I love my 9S but I can only hope for more male charas, and as someone mentioned mature/older ones!)

I'm still getting him for sure, but yeah, I really want to see him from other angles 🤔 I expected some sharper features in his eyes and chin. But I don't mind a cute Kaito too! This is all gonna hit me as the hours pass, so I will try to contain myself 😂

I also want to see more pictures before I make any judgements. But he's definitely cute. 🥰

I'm definitely getting him regardless, he's so cute on his own. But I think they did him a little wrong like Luka and Meiko. Volks just developed the new boy heads so I'm surprised he got the baby face trend treatment. Not trying to damper anyone's excitement xD I'm still definitely buying him. Maybe a new faceup would help. They did such a good job on his outfit

I wish I could get him as I want more boy dolls but tapped out for the year+ (thanks Utena and Anthy). While I do wish he looked older (same for Meiko) otherwise I like him a lot!

I like him.  I think his head looks very round in the promo but the shots coming out from fans show it to be less round and the eye shape is unique and fun.  Also very happy his clothes are not pleather even if the shoes are.  Now to just wait for order details.

I really love his face. It feels so cute. A definite softer kaito vibe

I think his look is going to pair nicely with Meiko.

To me he looks very similar to Meiko, just with longer face.
Overall more feminine, and he's still using the default DDB body. 

I actually think he’s -perfect-. Kind of a blend of the slightly more mature vibe with the cute vibe the rest has. In this house we stan Cute Kaito but he’s kind of the best of both worlds? I was so scared he was going to look weirdly mature that I legitimately wouldn’t have minded if he just ended up looking exactly like Meiko but blue, so this was such a nice surprise for me. His eyes look beautiful too.

While I’m keeping him as Kaito, I find his sculpt so interesting I’d love to see what people do with it. I think it would make a really pretty ‘older sister’ type girl too. 

He would definitely make a very pretty girl!! I felt that way with Kirito too tbh. Shame I don't feel super comfortable using character dolls for anything not the character/splitting them up- I always feel bad because "what if someone wants them for the character?" but androgynous girls have the best look imo-- ^^' not like I have a type or anything?? x'D

I shared this with a friend who loves Kaito a lot and I'mma try to convince her to join this forum but dunno if she'll feel like it, she is very excited about him tho!!

 

She's a bit daunted by the lottery thing though. We'll see how it goes I guess, neither of us has ever done a Volks lottery so I have some research to be doing!!

These are my feelings exactly! I was a little worried because I've been looking forward to him so long, what if I just don't like the sculpt? But look at this boy! He's exactly right and I couldn't be happier. His eyes look amazing in the promo image, not sure if they'll pop as well irl but that's fine. My #1 concern was I hope he looks right next to Meiko and Miku and he definitely will! Can't wait to get the boy!!!

Ah, I really like him. I'm so excited he's got some pictures now! It makes the wait a little easier, haha. I'm going to be silently losing my mind while waiting for the order period to be announced.

The Vocaloids haven't been too hard to get imo. The hardest was probably Sakura Miku, but the others have been really accessible. 

He’s so cute. I don’t think he looks at all excessively young-faced, even though I had that problem with Meiko. We don’t have that many pics to judge from yet but he looks perfect to me so far.
