do you think Kagamine twins could be re-released?

Hi, nice to meet you, I'm new at this forum 😊. 
I've been looking for DDS kagamine Len and Rin (mostly Len), but I think is very difficult to get and the prices are very high, and I feel very discouraged and eager to pay up that much.

What are your opinions?

I'm very new at this dollfie dream world, so I'm not sure what to expect; I'm not sure if I should buy it a high cost or just see if some day they could release a reboot

Yeah, for now, I’d say wait - a rerelease would also be a frame upgrade so I think the odds are favorable.

oh, thank you, both, I can't buy the doll anyway because the person that was selling it already sold it 😅, so I'll wait for a while then.... I wasn't sure if it was unreaslistic to think about a re-release haha but I hope they do it some day 🥺

Sometimes Volks USA will sell Vocaloid DD around Christmas as part of an event, so it's not unrealistic imo to keep hopes up and an eye out for that.

Since Volks has made so many iterations of Miku, a rerelease of Rin and Len is not unlikely! They were super popular so I could see them being part of a preorder project.

I'm not sure how true this is as it is just something I read somewhere from someone else, but apparantly Rin wasn't super popular during her release. She apparantly was for sale for quite some time after. Once she wasn't available anymore that is when her demand started to rise.

Again, I'm not sure how true this is as I personally didn't witness their original release, but that's what I heard. If anyone here remembers the original release maybe they can confirm. If it is true, I hope it doesn't come in the way of a possible re-release. I know plenty of people would love to add them to their collection, especially with Kaito coming up as well.

I would agree with this assessment. If I personally was going after the twins, I would be saving for aftermarket instead of hoping for a re-release. Although it is possible, Volks are sometimes hard to tell what they are planning.

I witnessed this so I can confirm it, because I love Rin and Len and I was kinda sad they seemed so incredibly unpopular. There were so many people flaking on their entries for Rin and Len that they were in stock on the international store for over a YEAR, and for a while they were the easiest DDs to get that I can even think of besides standards, because their second hand sale price on mandarake etc was so much lower than their official price.

I really have no idea why this is, I assumed that a bunch of people entered with the goal of flipping them for money, but I think RinLen was the first lottery Volks did with a particularly high win rate which meant that it wasn’t that rare to have gotten them, so the scalpers lost interest and flaked en masse?! I remember being able to tell people how easy Rin was to get because you could just purchase her normally from the store now or get her even cheaper on mandarake.

 But then once the store RinLens finally sold out, Volks exhausted their new old stock at MagiMirai etc and all the second hand ones dried up, they suddenly shot up in value and rarity and I remember being shocked. Rin tends to be much more expensive than Len now too. It’s like now that people can’t have them they want them more.  

Normally I’d assume their chance of rerelease was low due to their apparent unpopularity at the time, and I don’t know how likely one on the near future is if it wasn’t announced at MagiMirai. But we’ve been surprised before and after all we don’t know how many people voted for them in the Best Selection polls. It might happen (especially with her getting a new outfit although that’s not a confirmation) but you could say that for any DD release tbh, I wouldn’t have expected Emilia to be rereleased so soon either.  

I personally don’t think Miku and Snow Miku getting ‘reboots’ alone was a confirmation that the rest eventually would too though, Miku Reboot was because she won Best Selection and Snow Miku is because she gets a new outfit every year and also very likely due to the bootleg Snow Miku in circulation. That doesn’t mean they wont, but I think people often get their hopes up over things that aren’t confirmed in this hobby and it’s better to just wait and see.

I indeed thought it was both Rin and Len but I didn't wanna mention Len for sure as he's one of the few boys and you'd think he'd be popular for that reason alone! It's quite shocking to hear they both met the same fate.

Speaking as someone who looked at Len because he was a boy but then never bought him- I would have only been interested in his body, and maybe his head if I wiped the faceup to get rid of the yellow eyeshadow. I had no interest in his outfit and keytar, but the keytar made him pricier than normal. Also, it seemed like everyone was selling off his outfit, so it didn't go for a very high price and therefore you couldn't recoup costs. 

TLDR; he was too expensive for me even though I would have wanted his body.

Len being a boy was actually more a strike against him than for, because it really does seem that DD boys aren’t as popular and don’t sell that well compared to the girls (although they’ve been slowly and steadily gaining a little more popularity on twitter lately, maybe thanks to some of the really impressive customisers like Sealand, and I see at least one new boyish custom head on yahoo auctions a week).

It’s unfortunate, but I’m glad Volks are still making the effort to make them despite this. TBH, sad as it is it wouldn’t surprise me if Rin was rereleased and Len wasn’t. Len definitely took longer to sell out and he was also present for sale at Magical Mirai a lot longer than Rin was. (Which also makes me sad because I really like Len’s sculpt and that’s why I have two.)

i feel like it's possible, new outfits arriving and such. like others have stated probably a rerelease- really hope both get a release and not just one though
