I'm not liking the changes. The proportions are way outta whack, just look at the area right below the chest. It's too skinny, like a bra size of 28-EEE.

I don´t know.... I would like see side by side pics....

This was the best I could do at doing a side by side. I used the picture of the DDdy Shapely doll that was offered in 2010 because it had the most similar posing. I scaled it up using %'s so it shouldn't be skewed from the original. The DDdyIII hasn't been resized at all, just cropped.

 

My opinion is that the torso is definitely longer, but that is true of the DDIII as well. The hips look the same, and it's hard to tell if the shoulders are at all narrower.

Ahhh... some of these I had seen but some of those are new! You can definitely see where she has some hips now. And the DDdy Shapely bust as well. *To me*, her lower torso is shaped like Yoko's is.... meaning it's narrower at the top than the original DDdy one and it also has more of a curve to the lower back. But it could also be the angles of these new photos.

 

I still don't think the thighs look as thick as on the old versions.

 

At least these pics give me some hope for the future!

I agree with you about the torso in comparison to Yoko's. I don't think that we'll actually notice much of a difference when they're clothed (they might actually have a better line), but it might be an issue for say bikinis.

 

I think the changes are mostly due to the nature of the DDIII skeleton which is a little lankier.

Can anyone provide pics of Yoko's torso as well? I was hoping to compare her to the new Dynamite body myself.

I did a big photo shoot this past Saturday doing body comparisons with the DDI, DDII, DDS and DDdy, all side by side. I also did the different busts for the DDII and DDdy so people can see those too. And of course, I did a comparison of Yoko's body and a regular DDdy because many people don't know that these are actually different.

 

I hope it turns out to be a good source of info for people here.

I'm putting in for Haruka, and hopefully I'll get the chance to buy her. If I do, I'll take comparison pics, if they haven't already been posted by the time she arrives.

 

I'm likely to want to sell the new DDDy III body, as I prefer the II version based solely on pics. But the problem is that if it's significantly different, her clothes won't fit the old dynamite body.

 

How soon do you think they'll start making clothes that are more tailored to the new bodies? Especially since they haven't even released them to sell yet?

That is an interesting point about how things will fit. This new body is maybe taller if the torso is longer. Plus the torso is skinnier. So if outfits are skin tight, then there might not be compatibility between DDdy and DDdyIII. On the other hand, even outfits for DDS can fit DDII, so maybe Volks will make outfits with both bodies in mind.

I thought that the only diferences in Yoko's body were in the bust area. I really love Yoko.

 

Thanks for the comparison pic.It helped me a lot. Comparing the 2 I think that some of the things I did not like on DDdyIII may be more "pose" than sculpture.

 

I hope that Volks release more pics. And will be waiting to see new releases in this body too!

So did I until I actually looked at her side by side with Manami. I'm doing that post tonight and uploading pics to Flickr now so check in there to see how different Yoko's upper AND lower torsos are.

I'll wait until I see owner pics of Haruka because Volks prototype pics aren't always reliable. Volks usually makes subtle changes between first promo pics and product owners get in hand.

 

Anyone notice like how on the DD3 they have fixed the gaps it had on it and made the bust actually sit right on it. I'm sure they will do that to the DDdy3 as well. Just as Ultimaknight said it's a prototype they prob have this wave as experiment than fix it with the later ones like usual.

 

The thing is neither the DDdy3 or the DD3 are thinner its just the bust sits higher showing the part that is actually suppose to be inside the bust, that is why it looks skinny from the upper waist.

That makes sense. I think that looks like the case. The bust was sitting up higher on the torso piece. Thank you for the photos, Motoko Yamamoto!
