Purchasing From Volks Japan Site

Recommended Posts

I know somewhere in all the threads here there are probably a bunch of posts that would answer this question, but I'm pretty new to vinyl BJDs and Volks and I'm having trouble finding results for my searches so here goes...

The Volks Japan site (https://dollfie.ec.volks.co.jp/) seems to have a lot more "full set" dolls than the Volks USA site.

So here comes probably one of the dumbest questions you've seen asked 😳

Are folks having good experiences ordering from Volks Japan?  I have one Volks doll - DDS Yuriko Nanao - and I bought her from Volks USA. I've never bought a doll from the main Volks Japan.

Thanks!!!   <3

I buy from Volks Japan and from Volks USA all the time, and both are great. Sometimes you find that one has items in stock when the other doesn’t. At the moment Volks USA might be suffering from the supply chain issues and port backlog we’re experiencing in the US. They have to get stock shipped from Japan to the US, and at the moment they are out of some things they normally don’t run out of.

Right now Volks Japan has two standard models Aoi & Miko that are no longer in production, and a number of limited dolls like Sailor Mercury and Freya Wion that didn’t sell out in their initial run. Some of those limited dolls may show up on Volks USA during their Christmas event, but no guarantees.

Shipping a doll from Japan will cost more than Priority Mail, but is about the same cost as USPS Express Mail.

You can safely buy from Japan.

The difference between Dollfie Dreams and Heroin? Heroin is illegal, Dollfie Dreams probably should be.

“Empty wallets, full hearts.” That’s probably an apt description for the effects of DD addiction

I may get a swat on the bum for this but I have had a better experience and faster deliveries ordering from Volks JP than I have ordering from Volks USA. I have no idea why but I could order the same thing on the same day from each, and have it shipped from Japan to Connecticut USA or from Gardenia CA, USA and I will receive the item from Japan faster. Volks Japan uses DHL whose speed is mind blowing. Volks USA uses USPS, which is not fast by any means. I have never had an error in any of my Volks Japan purchases.  I have had an error with my Volks USA purchase. Also - Volks Japan has the items there. They do not need to wait for a container ship to get through the port and onto a truck to the store to mail them out.

Ah.  The supply chain thing makes perfect sense.  Thanks so much for your responses!

As already mentioned above, there is nothing you need to worry about when ordering from Volks Japan, aside from potential delays between your order date and the shipment date during busier seasons. My average for the actual shipment date so far has been about one week after I place my order, but once the package is shipped, DHL does a fantastic job.

Depending on where you are located, ordering from Japan might mean extra customs fees, which is something to take into consideration as well.

Happy shopping!
