SD16 clothing on DD/DDS?

Can DD/DDS wear SD16 clothing? Specifically I’m wondering about the SD16 version of the Spring Magic Girl outfit.

I know this sounds like a stupid question because they’re completely different sizes, but when I look at comparison charts there’s only a few centimeters difference in bust/hips/waist.

Also (and I plan to make a post about this in the future), I found out recently that the DD version of this outfit actually has extra hooks further out from the normal ones, which means it can fit tighter around smaller bodies like those of MDD and Obitsu48 S Bust (can confirm that it fits the latter).

So I was wondering if there’s something similar on the SD16 version of this outfit if anyone has it, or if SD16 clothing in general can fit DD/DDS bodies (even if it’s a little loose)?

SD16 is an alternative for DDDy, so I would say dresses and shirts probably only work on L bust for DD/DDS, unless you actually want a loose fit. I don't know if that specific outfit has the extra hooks, but if Volks didn't mark it for DD/DDS it probably doesn't. I suppose you could add them yourself? Especially since Volks often uses thread loops instead of actual hooks in those situations.

Well I just ordered it secondhand, so I guess I’ll find out and report back

SD16 is much taller than a DD, and the waist is quite different. DD has a narrower waist owing to the need to have the bust slide over the waist and that difference is considerable. Some SD16 outfits do list DD or DDDy, but usually this is where the allows it to fit a range of sizes. What I mean here is that a skirt that is mid calf length on SD16 would be floor length on a DD, but that’s going to be perfectly fine as a fit. 

I doubt DDS will look good in an SD16 outfit

Generally SDGr fits should be ok, but sometimes the fit is just a bit too big for DD and it ends up looking frumpy. I can gamble on these because I have an SDGr and an SD16, but if you don’t have resins it can really help to see photos of an outfit on DD. 

I couldn’t find the SD16 one listed on their site, but if you did find it there then Volks should show what dolls it fits.

Actually that’s the example I gave in my opening post. It doesn’t list MDD as a compatible size, but it actually has extra threaded hooks that make it fit tighter so it fits my Obitsu48, which is closer to MDD size. I got it secondhand so it’s possible the previous owner added them, but it doesn’t look like it.

See the attachment, but it says it’s DD/DDS compatible and I have no idea how I missed that, so case closed I guess? Sorry for the confusion.

Ok, looking at that outfit I expect the skirt will be perfectly fine but longer on a DD, and I’d bet the corset has extra hooks if it fits DD & DDS. Even it it didn’t that’s an easy sewing project. The skirt will likely have extra hooks too. 

The shirt will probably be too big in the shoulders. SD16 have much wider shoulders, but to some degree this will boil down to how picky you are about fit and the diaphanous material may help some.  
 

One other note I would make: SD16B, SD17, and SD17GOU clothes are never likely to be a good fit for DD. They’re too big for SD16 Girls even.
