chef_mai Posted December 17, 2021 This is a bit silly, but does anyone know where I can buy these ribbons? It's easy to find a bowtie, tie or sailor-style scarf (Little Wonder carries those a la carte), but this style ribbon has proven elusive unless it's part of a set. Like the others, it isn't just ribbon-wrapped around the collar and comes with a band for easy dressing.

chef_mai Posted December 17, 2021 That crossed my mind, but I'd like something like this where it's a premade accessory I can slip on/off and not have to retie it each time. I imagine IRL (?) that this is what's done too.
Anna-neko Posted December 17, 2021 You may just need to either - get a ton of ribbons and get really good at tying them yourself OR just make these yourself. Making a bow is fairly easy, and small piece of elastic to get on neck (still easier than sewing on tiniest of hooks. or teensy snaps)
DreamDollDesign Posted December 17, 2021 (edited) I'm not sure where you can buy one like that, but I'd be happy to make one and send it to you. You'd only have to cover shipping and the cost of the spool of ribbon. Alternatively, I could make one and take pics to give you an idea of how to do it yourself, too. Edit: Made up a quick one with some scrap ribbon and hot glue. Edited December 17, 2021 by DreamDollDesign

DreamDollDesign Posted December 19, 2021 It's really easy, I promise. If there are any confusing parts or if you have any questions feel free to ask. Did the best I could without a phone mount. A little bit of extra info about the closures: Here's a clearer view of sewing a hook and eye. Here's how to sew on snaps. I think in the image I wrote that you should leave around 5mm extra on both ends of the ribbon for your closures. This is up to you, what kind of closure you use, how tight you want the ribbon, etc. Also, with ribbon, it would be a good idea to either lightly burn the ends or put a thin coating of glue on the very edge of the ends before you apply the closure, so that it won't fray. There's some specialty glue called Fray Check or similar stuff you can also use, but plain old craft glue that dries clear will work fine too, as will burning it. You'll want to do this on the ends of the legs of the bow as well.
