New DD from Shining Hearts

I can imagine Volks releasing more DD weapons. For Tokyo 25, they are making a bunch of headphones and microphones with stands. We need more guns and swords plus an archery set and scythes. An archery set would also be good for Inuyasha cosplay. There are miko outfits out there that would be good for a Kikyo cosplay.

I'd be so down for getting an archery set if they made one! I used to teach archery in Boy Scouts so I have a big soft spot for it in anime and such.

 

NakitaNinja, if you DO decide to make a bow and arrow set, I would definitley be interested in buying a set from you. I'm not buying Neris but my girls would LOVE to have a set anyways!

I'm thinking they'll actually be a bit less than $600, since Beato was about 3-6k yen more than Neris and Airy, and she went for $605. (Plus the exchange rate is actually slightly better than it was for Beato.) Maybe more like $550 or $575.

 

We (well, my GF, since I'm broke from Beato) are going to try for Nellis, since she's got a really nice face sculpt. It's funny that they come with the shimapan, by the way, is Volks trying to use up excess stock?

 

Ah, okay. I just did a currency conversion and it was $644. I'm actually now trying to get money for this. I hope they do offer them here. Chances are, though, I won't win the lottery. Never done it before either.

The teasers of Nellis and Aerie from the scans had me excited, but the promo pictures don't so much. I feel that the eye size is a bit too large (not enough white showing)

Agreed, luckily eyes can be removed!

This x1 million. I know I'll get these two gals for sure (I'll hunt em down if I need to) and the FIRST thing I'm doing is changing their eyes to the Volks Animetic F eyes in Blue and Black (why the hell they have Nellis blue eyes is beyond me). Also going to be upping Airy's bust to a L because that's what she actually has... Volks really messed up on the dolls themselves on these two, but the outfits are just so damn awesome that I have to add them to my collection.

I'm in it for the faceup! Nellis is so gorgeous, and Aerie looks like Marisa's older sister.

It's not the brightness, it's the actual eyes; they don't resemble Tony Taka's artwork whatsoever.

I'm waiting until I see the eyes for real, or at least in owner pics, before I pass judgement. The Beatrice ones were quite similar, and they've been looking great in pics taken by people other than Volks.

I know what you are thinking. Volks have a bad habbit of shining too much light in their promo shots of their dollfies. This normally makes the eyes look crazy bright

No, there's no whites in their eyes when there should be; that's why I'm changing them.

Since we are talking about their eyes I figured I'd include this picture.

Those eyes are pretty fantastic, looks like Nellis' eyes are more of a grey/black with hints of blue - doesn't look much like volks' shots but I'll reserve judgement until after release. ^_^

Oh, thanks for posting these Mitsuki!!! She's really looking great, I'm glad they have more shots of her in regular outfits.

 

You can really see how much (too much) extra light they pump into her face/eyes by how over exposed she is in these shots. Her skin is almost pure white!

I am glad you like the photos, OtakuDepot. She is really cute in casual clothes.

Oh yes, those new pics do look really good. And it looks like there is another outfit I'll have to go for now! That white and blue checkered dress is awesome!
