New DD from Shining Hearts

Thanks Kumi! You're great at finding stuff. Too bad DW doesn't have more of that style by them.

 

I didn't know they sanded her mouth, but now that I look at it, I can see it. I wouldn't think of doing that. I'd probably screw it up and feel horrible about it. I understand wanting a truly unique DD, but I like them as they are. They did a nice job on Airy. I agree with Kumi, though, on Neris.

I'm not sure if I'm the only one who feels like this but why do such drastic work on a limited DD head. If someone has the skill and desire to sculpt a custom mouth why not just start with a blank head and customize from there?

 

Maybe it's my modeling background but if I would be more interested in making a mold of the original and then modifying the copy only. It wouldn't be too hard to mold and make a resin copy of a custom DD head. (I'm not talking about doing this for resale and the legal issues involved with that, just making your own custom girl). It's also much cheaper that way.

If anyone is interested I just noticed that Volks international is listing Neris as in stock if you go through the image characters section of the store. (Not through the Dolpa 25 page itself.) I doubt it lasts though so if you want one hurry.

These girls just make you want to start baking to save the world. Obviously the only answer is to start a bakery. First person to get pics of these girls in a bakery with bread and sweets is the winner. The winner of what? General respect and rad-ness, I think.

I love the bakery idea. I saw someone make their own little braided breads to put in the basket they come with. Volks should have at least provided one little bread, right?

Well there's only 2 each for Neris and Aerie and it is decided by a lottery. That is very limited quantities.

Hobby Round 7 is a hobby show by Volks which was held just over this weekend in Tokyo. Mostly figures, garage kit, robots, etc. because this is not a Doll show. But they did have 2 DD Neris and 2 DD Aerie available at the show for purchase by the lucky lottery winners.
