My Sabrina (ranko) was up for rotation and just decided to go with a bunny theme this time around, by combining the Volks White Bunny set peripherals, and the Azone 60cm Casino de bunny main body. I was divided between a Sony Alpha-7mk2, a Alpha-7R or a Nikon D610 ... ultimately a low shutter count (1700 shots) D610 appread for less than what 30k shot Alpha-7mk2's were going for, so went for that. I knew I could use the DX 35mm with some vignetting, but I also got some funky glass to go with it in the form of a Tokina Ultrawide 16-28 ... resulting in a setup that weighs about 2kg, or four pounds for people measuring stuff in queens feet. So yea... I sort of understand the Sony Alpha-7's keeping their value better. things018 The upgrade sort of was worth it I suppose:shino160shino161shino162 The biggest boon of the D610 compared to the D3200 is the ability to directly set color temperature, and the camera actually stays there, and doesent wander about. I was also in a position after some time to splurge of some new outfits, so I got a batch from mandarake, with the first one of the old volks "Pick me up" outfits, actually made for male SD13's Unfortunately Milly had the worst case of LED allergy I've encoutered so far, and the first shots were a bit awkward in terms of shadows on the face: milly130milly131milly132milly133milly134milly135 I tried swapping for flourescants,and had some benefits, but ran out of time to really take more photos: milly136milly137milly138 Discount Starlette: The second outfit in the batch from manda was a Miki Hoshii default that popped up at a semi decent price and looked to still be in relatively good shape. Although in terms of Miki I've always like the first games "Awakened" design with the short bob brunette look, so here I decded to go for a mish-mash, modifying my faux Nagisa twin antenna wig into a single ahoge. I had done this idea before with old Saber, so this time I let Junior slip into the role accompanied with a generic nynJ gold halter, as I dont have a L-bust DDS body in the house... I was swapping between the Tokina and 35mm DX in this set just to keep things inconsistent, and also no crazy poses as I didnt want to damage the outfit any more than putting it on... saber299saber300saber301saber302saber303saber304saber305saber306saber307saber308saber309saber310saber311 Santa's little helper....? The tradition with me has become to let the new additions of the household have the christmass set, and Rena being the only addition this year, got to go solo ... rena044rena038rena039rena040rena041rena042rena043 The "bride" I managed to make another small advance in getting the Volks wedding dresses together in the form of adding the Happyness Bride set ... though oddly enough even though this is supposed to be for a DDy, it seemed to be most happy on a DD-L ... I guess Yoko's Natural body has funkyness to it in this department... Eliza was on rotation call this time, and the accessories were built around the blue theme ... unfortunately with the stain treatments, paintwork, and probably aging, the general tone difference between the head and body are quite apparent despite being near similar vintage. kotori122kotori123kotori124kotori125kotori126kotori127kotori128 So while I was taking these photo's I was listening to the Karl Urban Dredd soundtrack ... so naturally the knife had to come out.... kotori129kotori130kotori131kotori132 Wafuku Beat: I still had some volks designers collection outfits unopened that were of the Ye-Olde looking japanesque series, but I hadnt really figured out a suitable combo for some of them ... untill Beat came into rotation, and here we are: beatrice125beatrice126beatrice127beatrice128beatrice129beatrice130beatrice137beatrice131beatrice132beatrice133beatrice134beatrice135beatrice136 Since Beat spends her days on display in her default, I decided to have a third attempt at taking the painting pose:beatrice138 And despite the funky way they did the bust piece, I still love this outfit:beatrice139 Discount crimson arc-mage redux: The last item in the outfit batch was a bit of an occasion, as I finally got my mitts on a old Azone outfit from the 60cm days that had more or less eluded me one way or another since its release. The 60cm Halloween witch set:things021 Didnt quite make it for actual halloween, but as such, it did leave me the opportunity to thinking about a few options about its display... Brand new in bag it felt a bit weird taking it out, but out it would came and after getting used to the clearly old smell of it, and giving it a good ironing, it was ready for display... as a reminder it was once Azone that made the best stuff for Vinyl Dolls, not Volks. I've been lucky (?) to have assembled a motley bunch of character models, and some customs along the way, although I suppose the obvious heavyweights are featured in this batch. And yea, the witch set turned out better than expected, although haruhi's face is a bit burned out on some of the pics due to the exposure I went with, although I do have a selection of exposure stops for all photo's, but the problem here was do I want the outfit to pop, or not -- one of the issues with working with black satin.
