Utena Tenjo & Anthy Himemiya

@Oculae  Ahaha, yes. Please flex- I always love to see them both. They've become instant favorites here, and I'm pleased to see I'm not the only one interested in trying some crazy hybrids to accommodate them. I have a Lelouch head coming home, so I can't complain too much. Eiji/Crimson is the endgoal though.

 

Good. Not to detract from Utena fans, who deserve all the joy, but I also have never seen this anime. I just dig Anthy. Everything about her is great- her facemold, her colour, and her fullset is nice to boot, if you want it. As for me though, I'd just be happy with her. She'll make a great halfling! 'Felicity' suits her, and that silver hair will pop. I doubt many Anthy owners are going for the peasant / mori / medieval look, so she's certain to be unique.

 

@BeyondTime Fingers crossed for you! USPS has been decent here about sticking to schedules, but of course, local mileage will vary.

The issue is usually delays in processing in LA.

As a big Utena fan, honestly Himemiya was up for 2-3 days on the 2nd restock from Japan so not only were you more than considerate when you didn't need to, but at this point I wouldn't even worry about it. Whoever really wanted Himemiya (unless they didn't have the money) got her at this point I think.

…unless you had entered the US-lottery already when the restock showed up. xD If you don‘t have money for two and also don‘t want to be banned from the US-site, you can only wait.

I waited a few days before entering the US lottery exactly because of that tbh
Was going to wait until the last day just in case lol I'm still hoping that some people cancel anyway
and others can get those dolls.

Anthy finally arrived after sitting at the post office in LA for a week. She's my first brown skinned doll, and she's gorgeous. Volks definitely needs to make Tawny a standard skin color. 

My Anthy showed up on Wednesday! I couldn't take any decent pictures of her until I got her new wig somewhat styled, though. 😆

I still have to adjust her faceup and do a bit more wig work, but she already feels like a great fit for my chaotic little halfling!

And gosh, that skintone is gorgeous. I was blown away by SmD Tea, but this looks even more like a realistic and beautiful tan tone. Glad I decided to enter for her after all, she's wonderful!

How come this girl looks so stunning no matter how she's styled? 

Tawny skin is really photogenic in sunlight.

 

Normally I don't post images of my dolls nude, but I really wanted to show how the light and shadow plays across her skin when lit from a window on the right side of the image.

I wasn't sold on Anthy from the promo images, but the more I see owner photos of her, the more I feel like I need.

Here's to hoping a few people put theirs up on the market once I have the money to bring her home!

I specifically looked up what colors work well with brown skin. 

Honestly, the photos don't do her skin justice. She's really more of a beautiful chocolate brown, but she photographs a lot lighter.

The ones mine is wearing are just mix and match items from Volks outfit sets. The jewelry is from Etsy. 
 

Edit: Actually, I'm pretty sure I got the necklace at the Sumika shop at the LA Dolpa.  

Wooooow, that tanned skin tone is gorgeous!!! Hope Volks makes more dolls in that skin tone.

If you're looking at my photos, realize she's really a darker brown in person. When I opened my box my first thought was her skin looked like delectable chocolate. She's an almost perfect perfect representation of East Indian or the lighter African skin tones, and yeah, Volks needs to make tawny a standard color.

I really hope they do, I can’t believe it’s not!! Darker skin girls seem to be so in demand. I’m so happy they gave Anthy her correct skin tone 😄

Why do I keep looking at this thread, it's dangerous lol. Anthy is too tall to be Undine from the webcomic Sleepless Domain, but I do think she'd make a great Aurin from the old defunct MMO Wildstar. . . honestly it just keeps me wanting a tawny DD. Not an Icon, an actual DD. 

If Volks ever did even a limited order of even blank Tawny DDs I think we would all be SUNK.

I honestly regret not trying the lottery for Anthy. I thought I wouldn't need her but seeing owner photos made me change my mind.
