Sailor's tiara issues

Recommended Posts

Claudia79

Hello everyone! 🙂
I'm new of Dollfie's world and I have a question that has probably been asked before.

I'd like to know what is the best way to protect my Sailor warriors foreheads (I have four of them and I'm looking for Jupiter so badly). They're still in boxes, but when I'll put them on display they'll wear Volks wig caps and the tape on the back of the tiara. Is it enough to avoid stains on their head? Thank you!

The tape should be sufficient. My Mercury wore hers with a fully taped back for a few months without any issues.

Protective caps should definitely be used on Ami, Rei, and Makoto, but they aren't needed for Usagi or Minako. The danger of wig stains comes from dyes used to darken the light colored fabric used to make the cap the the hair fibers are stitched onto. The dye from that cap can bleed into the vinyl. Usagi and Minako's caps are undyed and present no stain risk.

Wig caps are useful for stain prevention, and they can help hold a wig on if it's loose. They can also make it harder to put a tight wig on, and it's easy to damage complex wigs. Makoto absolutely needs a wig cap, but her wig is very hard to get on over a protective cap, and ponytail wigs are fragile. Wig caps aren't a 100% barrier for stains either. The dye can bleed into the cap and from there bleed into the doll. You'll need to periodically check for bleed.

The difference between Dollfie Dreams and Heroin? Heroin is illegal, Dollfie Dreams probably should be.

“Empty wallets, full hearts.” That’s probably an apt description for the effects of DD addiction

My main worries concern the tiara, since I know its golden paint can stain Sailors' foreheads. But all you said about the wig caps is very useful, thank you!
I haven't Makoto yet - as I wrote before I'm looking for her - and, if I will get her someday, I'll be careful with her ponytail wig.

But what about stains, if they ever pop up on Sailor' foreheads? I heard about "Dream Rescue" by Volks and "Mr. Clean Magic Eraser", but I have no idea of how to use them.

Dream Rescue is a stain removal cream. If you get it from Volks USA, the instructions in English will be provided. Volks Japan provides an instruction sheet in a Japanese. It’s not hard to use, but there are precautions about use and a warning that the cream is toxic.

Magic Eraser is basically a cleaning sponge that can be used to remove surface grime from the doll. Just don’t use either one of them on the face-up. The part that needs to be 100% protected from stains is the face. Other parts of the head can be stain treated like any part of the body, but it’s a pain because you have to be super careful not to get your stain remover on the face.
