It's the same pleather, unfortunately. I doubt Volks would do anything to change it, because they don't have a good enough reason to. I figured, "since they don't walk and are unlikely to bend the boot in a way that will be detrimental, why not?" Honestly, I'm expecting that to happen to my Miku's boots. Her pleather parts on her original and Snow Miku outfits are already looking pretty sad, even though I got her MIB this past December.
