jadepixel Posted February 25, 2012 If you like Angel Beats, the same team (Key) has done several other series. Clannad is one, it's on Netflix as well. I started watching that after I got hooked on Angel Beats And actually I liked it better than Angel Beats. They aren't trying to cram in lots of action and girl bands, instead spending more time on the character development. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Key_(company) jadepixel doll lab jadepixel eye shop

Angel beats to me sounds like they're trying to copy off of Haruhi Suzumiya and K'ON. Let's not get me started on Haruhi, I love that show but the second season, made me paranoid. I like the concept, and the detail, wait-I don't know if you saw the second season. So, I don't want to spoil it for you. I will definitively watch it. Darker than black is very sexy though. The main character reminds of of L from deathnote.
Crashrobot Posted February 29, 2012 Okay, so I started to watch Rosario+Vampire and it is pretty okay so far. The whole bouncing boob effect is really dawning down on me. Even though I like bouncing boobs, too much of it throws me into a coma. I finished watching angel beats and I teared because the ending is very sad. Very good ending by the way. Netflix, really needs to update their anime selection now. They haven't updated in a while now. -_- Damnt Netflix.
Exokiel Posted March 1, 2012 Are you using Netflix? Don't know if they have it, but you could try Requiem for the Phantom for the action-packed setting. Also there are various streaming sites and even official ones like Cruncyroll. Some of my personal recommendations would be Planetes, Canaan, Diebuster, Xam'd, Macross F, and Ghost in the Shell. Canaan is awesome and it's on netflix. The ending song is one of my favorites. Her name is "Annabel" it's very hard to find her music though. I've seen Ghost in the shell, well at least some of the episodes. I didn't watch all of them. I will check out the other ones. I forgot about crunchyroll. There's another place to watch free anime too but I forgot it. The only thing I don't like about crunchyroll is they show so many commercials. I know you can be a member and pay so it can be commercial free. I've seen some of the older macross, but I haven't seen much of the newer ones.
mitsuki Posted March 1, 2012 Old Macross is fantastic and so old. haha I love the music.

Ravendruid Posted March 6, 2012 Clanaad is definitely in my top 5. Can be a little bit of an emotional roller-coaster at times, but always done well. One of the few stories, of any type, that made me cry, but I didn't hate. Angel Beats was also very awesome. Really wish it could have been longer. I thought the ending was handled perfectly. Just started getting into El Cazador de la Bruja. Very fun. Probably the anime I've had the most fun watching since Trigun. Just the right blend of action, mystery, and humor. Also, in spite of being about two girls, it's non-fanservicey enough to keep the wife's interest. Daddy of: Yuriko, Sohi, Miku and SK's many kids

I kinda want to finish rosario+vampire. Theres a few others I can't think of at the moment. I really did cry at the end of angel beats though. Theres another anime about a little girl vampire and her servant is a wolf. That one isn't bad so far.
jadepixel Posted March 6, 2012 I know I'm late to the game, but I just finished Puella Magi Madoka... wow! Really much better than I expected from the cute designs. It's actually a dark and gritty series with an apocalyptic theme, and some well developed characters. It reminded me a lot of my favorite anime, Utena. So I highly recommend it jadepixel doll lab jadepixel eye shop
Ravendruid Posted March 8, 2012 Just finished Yamada's First Time, thanks Baldylox! It was MUCH better than I expected it would be. Very realistic (sadly so, in my case) I could really relate to both of the main characters. SK loved it as well. Now we just need to finish El Cazadore and Oreimo. Very realistic (sadly so, in my case) I could really relate to both of the main characters. SK loved it as well. Now we just need to finish El Cazadore and Oreimo. Ha ha, excellent! I'm glad you guys enjoyed it. It had some really great comedy in it as well as some fun cuteness. I watched El Cazadore before, owned the DVD set, and I was totally bored with it. Bee Train is known for slow styled shows and even tho I liked the characters a lot, the pacing of the show wasn't enuff to make me like them. Had the action been better and the story a bit faster paced I think I'd have liked it more. But as it sits, I sold the set to buy some other shows. As for Oreimo, I have yet to see it but I want to. Billy I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop.
Ravendruid Posted March 8, 2012 As for Oreimo, I have yet to see it but I want to. Billy We're about halfway through it, and liking it a lot. Slow going, though, since for watching subtitled shows we have to specifically block out a chunk of time just to watch, whereas dubbed anime we can watch while doing other stuff (sewing, cooking, falling asleep, etc.). Oh I know exactly what you mean! I used to be able to do other stuff while watching dubbed anime ( which is my preference BTW ) but with subbed anime, I have to sit down and *watch* it. But to me, this is a good thing because I can get a bit more involved in it. Not that I didn't make time for dubs, it's just easier to follow along when it's in your native tongue. Deinbeck Posted March 10, 2012 I know I'm late to the game, but I just finished Puella Magi Madoka... wow!Really much better than I expected from the cute designs. It's actually a dark and gritty series with an apocalyptic theme, and some well developed characters. It reminded me a lot of my favorite anime, Utena. So I highly recommend it I feel spoiled watching some of the stuff we get to watch these days, Madoka was really suprisingly good. I'm starting to suspect Shinbo is some kind of crazy genius. Bakemonogatari was rediculously well done too. I'm really digging anything that guy has a hand in TBH. Also, Utena Did you watch any Penguindrum?
Exokiel Posted March 10, 2012 Oreimo is really great, same goes for Penguindrum. I didn't finished Madoka yet, the setting seems a bit too cute for me, although the ratings are exceptional. Currently I'm into sports anime, already watched One Outs which was really good and getting started with Cross Game today.
