Ordering from Volks JP versus Volks USA

I bit the bullet and got myself a MDD Mochi-ashi!

Anyways, I bought from the JP website since the conversion of yen to USD is too good to pass right now. How long does it take for Volks JP to process and ship orders? Volks USA usually ships items in 1-2 business days when the item is in stock. It's my first time transacting with the JP website so I'd appreciate anybody sharing their experience.

Right now they are seriously backed up.  I got an email from them after 2.5 weeks of waiting to hear back about my order of parts.  They said they were busy and shipping was an issue for them but to be patient and they would ship as soon as they could.  So I wouldn't expect to get anything from them within a month right now unless things on their end change drastically.

Thank you for letting me know! The price difference is quite a steal and I wouldn't mind waiting if they do take quite awhile to process. 😅

Hoping things get a little smoother for Volks JP soon!

Even at a "normal" time you'd be expecting 1-2 weeks for an order to get out in my experience.

Congrats! those chonky lil legs sorta grow on you, don't they? 

MDD Rena was the only one I've ordered thru the Intl. site, so far, and It took about three days for the order to process and ship from JP, then about a week to clear Customs and finish her journey to Tucson, So, generously giving a two-week average back then, I'll give a conservative average of five weeks.

Not too ridiculously bad, IMHO, I've ordered stuff thru Amiami, that was in stock, and it took over three months to get here.

Wow, I missed that memo before I ordered. Well, that's okay... Almost everything else got delayed thanks to the pandemic so I got used to waiting a little longer these days.

Hmm, so it wasn't that long of a wait back then. I'm thinking like what the others had mentioned, JP is just very busy right now with all the bulk of orders right now.

Dang, that was really long of a wait from Amiami. When I still lived in Asia, it only took less than a week to get my orders from Amiami. I guess the distance plays a role in that... Then again, Alice's collections also took that long, like three months.

Heh..... Enabling Powers, activated....

I order twice from them. The first one about 4 months ago the second one about a month ago. It took only a little over a week for them to ship my Mochi Ashi body and my DDdy body in both occasions. So I think I was lucky. They ship using DHL so I got the bodies in about 3 days since the shipping notice

I've ordered 4 times from them this year. 😳

Normally, the lead time is 1 week, but any time there's a drop of new clothes from the AE, it can take 3-4 weeks for orders to get processed. However, that's if you order something from the drop.

DHL delivers quickly and doesn't have to go through normal customs. I haven't had anything come slower than 3-4 days, and my last one arrived in 2 days flat. EMS is no longer backed up and will take the normal 7-10 days.

That's cool! Also, I know I have seen this in a thread here as well, but I was wondering if Volks JP will ship the order based on the address on your Customer Information? I did a little oopsie when I submitted my order and didn't put my state in it (because there was no input for that) and only put in my zipcode T_T

I know that in my order I did put United States in the country but I just couldn't view the entire shipping address of it anywhere. I'm worried it might have a shipping issue.

I would contact them about an address correction.

It seems like those who participated in the Utena/Anthy clickwar already got their shipping notice. I've seen those, including myself, who ordered other in-stock items don't have updates yet. 

I ordered an accessory from the same clickwar event as Utena and Anthy, and no updates for me yet. Looks like they're prioritizing the dolls right now, hopefully I'll get a notice soon!

I think it's highly likely that they pulled aside a few employees and set them to solely ship the Utena DDs to get those orders out of the way.  They probably wanted to also make room by getting all those doll boxes out first.  I believe some of the last doll orders from the original clickwar stock have gotten shipping notifications, so hopefully they will circle back at the beginning of next week and start to get all of the other orders out, too.

Going to add, if the only thing in the order was the doll, that’s a much easier to assemble order so probably another reason they seem to have prioritized them - get the big and simple orders out, then work through the ones where you need to be more careful on making sure everything is in there and packaged properly. 
 

As someone who ordered clothes and other in stock stuff, I am still waiting.

I got a shipping notice for my Anthy. I ordered her in the later restock, and I added two normal webstore items to my order as well. Nothing from the other release event though, so it seems like they are just prioritizing the doll shipments period.

As an update on my order from Volks Int. they sent me an email yesterday stating that my order has finally shipped!  I made the order on May 20th and today is June 10th so 21 days total?  I've had worse for sure.  😉  Hopefully it gets here in a short time frame instead of a month or more.

 Glad you finally got an update! I'm still waiting on mine, as it's only been roughly more than a week since I placed my order.

It arrived today via DHL!  That was pretty quick from when they let me know it was being shipped.  I do hope you get yours really soon!

These days I feel like I'm in customer prison, counting the days on how long it's been taking and I hope I don't lose interest in my order. Not once, but twice, was I tempted to hit the "Order Cancellation" button, but I didn't do it because I don't want the risk of getting banned. What does "Under Arrangement" mean? It's just been sitting there on that same status for almost three weeks now.

For cart sale items it boils down to waiting for shipment, but product might still be in the manufacturing phase.

I'm confused, then. My order consists of both in-stock items, so does in-stock mean it's also still manufacturing?

For event items they may still be producing them as stock is being sold. I.e. They are prepared to sell 500, but they've only made 250 when the event starts. That's just a guess on my part though. If they think they are going to sell 500, but demand turns out to be really low, they are better off not having 500 items on the shelf so that's how I'd do it.  

Some items like dolls can have a lead time too, like 6 - 8 weeks, which leads me to think they haven't made the full stock at the time of sale. 

I gave it a shot and sent them an inquiry email yesterday... And today I finally have a shipping notice! Expecting my order to arrive this week.
