I agree, when I saw the announcement I expected her to be a DDP lol. But her face sculpt looks very cute, I'd almost be tempted to buy her and customise her. 

Well, I guess I dont have to get another Haruhi to make a permament custom Megumin for myself ...

The outfit looks rather nice if you dont look into the sleeves, and I really like how they kept the aztec pattern semi-random in her hat... will have to see how they do the wrapping for her arm and leg ...  but most importantly ... the leetle black boobie-cat Chomuske.

Makes me wonder if they will do the Winter outfit as an option, although most likely an option would be the casual outfit when they were in Axis land

But the staff is a bit of a let down ... especially having the wrapping molded into the plastic..  but eh ... I do have something to replace it if one of these happens to make their way here.

 

also on the DDS vs DDP ... Megumin is in that weird height space where she's not really a good fit for either size, sort of like with Iori in the Im@s DDP's .. a DDS is a bit too high, but a DDP would have been too scrawny in my opinion.

I was thinking this too.

She's cute, but thankfully not a character I feel the need to have. 

Here's hoping Kaito is announced too so my wallet is 100% safe from this round.

She's one of my must haves.. and I 100% agree she should've been smaller/ DDP
especially if they make the other girls. If they don't I guess it won't be too bad since you won't
have other charas from the same anime to compare her to, but if you have say Emilia
and Megumin it will be a jarring lol

Technically its enough that she's shorter than either Aqua or Lalatina ... out of curiosity went and looked through Mishima Kurone artwork (original novel illustrator, ), and more or less when you have a lineup done by them, Megumin isnt really that much shorter compared to the other two ... its not untill you get to the Studio Deen artwork where Lalatina gets a growth spurt which might make a DD lalatina, DDS Aqua, and a smaller megumin.

 

as a bit of an afterthough dunno if Rena caused some backlash in terms of going too small with the body choise.

Potential Rena issues might be a thing yeah, since Maria from Umineko was also that size, but she's smaller/younger than Rena.
I've only watched the anime so yeah I was mainly thinking of Darkness' size diff.
(side note, I see a fellow Tsukuyomi fan! Or at least Haiji lol)

mm, well there's a fair bit of inconsistency in the anime once you start bouncing around, for instance sometimes megumin is the same height as kazuma, and sometimes not... but thats Studio Deen for you I guess.

But in konosuba's case they probably would have to had gone to the original novel illustrator for final approval since its usually their joint copyright. (like in Haruhi Suzumiya the original character design copyright is to Noizi Itou, and not kyoto animation)

But here's a quick easy lineup by Kurone:

the top of her head gets over the shoulder of lalatina in that one which would be my cut-off line in terms of DDS over DDP. but as I mentioned before its a close choise.

But Deen really went to town with Lalatina's assets .. to the point when I was looking up the original art after the first watch, I wondered who the "new" blondie was...

 

And yea... Haiji has been my avatar since Moonphase came out ... since smart-ass annoying sounding cat thing and all.

Without knowing anything about the character at all she looks like a DDS to me at a glance, just because her body proportions are more mature than the somewhat lanky-ish DDP, who can wear MDD clothes.

When WAS the last time we've had a Dollfie Dream Pretty? We have Rena who could have been either MDD or DDP, and she was made to be MDD. And now we have this character who could have been either DDP or DDS and she was made to be DDS. I may be paranoid, but I'm sensing a pattern here. 

Wolks, WHEN are you going to make more bust sizes to the DDP? WHEN are you going to make a hand size spesifically for this body type? When, Volks? 😤

(I really have to start saving money for Iori and buy her when her prize is relatively low. I have a really bad feeling about this. 😑 I'm sounding like Han Solo. 😅)

I don't know anything about the character, obviously. But still. Is Megumin's magic absolutely worthless? Nothing happened to that castle, no matter how many times she tried to blast it into oblivion! 🤣

December 2019 with the Volks Ribbon / Colon standard duo ... which is oddly enough about a half year after the last Dynamite release (2B), so the pretty is doing better in that sense in a way.

There are possible DDP characters from reoccurring franchises... somehow I wouldnt be too surprised if the next Grand order release was either Sitonai or Shuten Doji, since Raita has made some more ... erm.. appropreate outfit versions of her, although the horns are a thing. -- though knowing volks they'd do something to honor the saberfaces and go with a Jean Alter Santa Lily.

No, it’s the opposite—it’s her team mates that are completely useless. She’s the only one with a powerful spell (she only has one), but she can only pull off one explosion per day, after which she collapses (which is why she needed Kazuma to carry her back).

There’s a really hilarious follow-up to this scene in a later episode where the lord of the castle wages a war against the town because “someone keeps blasting” his castle but never actually attacks.

You have to understand that the show is a comedy making fun of the isekai trope. Instead of reincarnating into the strongest man in the land where everything goes right for him, Kazuma reincarnates into the weakest man in the land where everything that can go wrong does. It’s basically Monty Python in anime form.

If you look closely the castle does start to deteriorate with every boom, at least on some of the top parts you start to see the wooden framework with the stone walls getting smashed.

Also she is quite capable of adapting to the situation, and fairly ruthless:

Well.. yes and no ... "Hai - Kazuma, desu" did have the choise of getting a cheat item to steamroll everything ... but because his afterlife handler decided to piss him off, and he chose differently, with certain end results.

and he does actually have absurd luck on his side, and then combined with steal ...

Which amusingly ends up with him unknowingly stealing the unmentionables from his crush a few times, while his own dame-gami is implied to running around commando...

....

 

and now I want to rewatch the series again, depsite it being not too long ago ... but Alas, have to go empty a apartment abroad.

Is the girl with pale bue hair Aqua? If so, I have to agree with people. I would have bought her too. (Although I don't know anything about her. XD) I'm afraid of Megumin's outfit being a real stain monster... 😑

Yea, Aqua is the blue one ... and Darkness / Lalatina is the blonde with... a thing ... for stuff.

But you might regret taking aqua as did someone...

And if you think we are spoiling ... this is just scratching the surface... its highly recomended adventure comedy, but there is a fair bit of fanservice and nudity to deal with... and speaking of iffish things, you do get Kotono Mitsushi (Misato Katsuragi, and a certain blonde magical baton twirler) in a rather... peculiar cameo role in this.

They really did the casting perfect for this, at least on the japanese audio. -- and once you get there, the movie ending is... special too.

Looking into the sleeve it seems like the red bits have a white liner. the purple mantle collar might be a thing, though the biggest issue will most likely be the wig base, since unlike azone, volks cant seem to make a light colored base with dark hair.

Looking at the new photos, I think the DDS fits her perfectly. 🧡 Her makeup also looks very nice!

I'm sorry, are those PAPER POSE FINGERLESS GLOVE HANDS!? I need all the fingerless glove hands. For science. LOL

She is cute, but I really really need to see a true profile of her, because these shots make it look like she has a slight overbite. 😕 

I've literally been saying for so long now that one of my dream characters as a Dollfie Dream would be Aqua, and here they are bringing out Megumin T__T
It's a little painful, but I'll keep my fingers crossed that maybe this gives a bigger chance of an Aqua someday as well! 🤞
