Slightly tounge in cheek title, as I am trying to lighten up my semi sour mood...

but just wanted to share what was waiting for me at the post depot today:

Kaede000

A bit of a quick and dirty shot all things considered, but I just wanted to get it out of my system as I did select the bottle of jack from my recent boat trip's duty free allocation just for this. (somehow I just remember a fair bit of fanart with Kaede and whiskey, occasionally indeed involving jack...)

anyhoo its just a floating head at the moment, complete with the default stage dress and box. Dunno if I will get around to photographing those any time soon as life seems to find a way to keep me busy with other things, and id prefer doing it on a fresh body, again life finding ways of spending my money without my direct concent.

Why Kaede? ... she's actually only the second character out of Cinderella girls that I actually like more or less (based on the anime at least), despite being a fairly small section in the anime. -- Im also a sucker for heterochromia, so there is that too...

Kaede is an awesome character, and I love the way she handles evil stepmother in the anime.

The simplicity of the composition is the win here imo. Having just a few elements makes Kaede the main focus, and the bottle of Jack makes it a story and not just a portrait. Plus it looks like an old style whisky ad like the kind you would see in Playboy in the 70s and 80s. Very classic, and very fitting with the concept of Kaede as a mature top idol. I think you did a good job setting her up in a way that makes her look more the mature Kaede from the anime as opposed to the more youthful game look. Very nicely done.

I really hope you don't mind the semi-critique.

The difference between Dollfie Dreams and Heroin? Heroin is illegal, Dollfie Dreams probably should be.

“Empty wallets, full hearts.” That’s probably an apt description for the effects of DD addiction

not at all ...

There is a bit of a sad background story, since I spent a fair bit of time on ferries during the 80's and 90's, and didnt have much else to do but browse the tax-free catalogues in the cabin, so tobacco and alcohol advertisements became familiar, so there is a bit of a penchant for that I guess.

Eight years ago I did this too:

Bacardi because of one bar scene in Black Lagoon, and oakheart because the bottle looked interesting. (and as a disclaimer that bottle is still unopened.)

But I do like my composition for such a quick bash together. luckily I quickly found the black oversized SD16 shirt for that homey and simple pajama look, and the stereotypical off shoulder setting to go with it... maybe could have used a soft filter, which I had apparently taken off the lens at some point.

As inspirations I guess I need to mention the other drawn whiskey fanarts, mainly Kaomings, which is erotic as a warning aping Yamazaki distillery bottle's as "The Takagaki - 20 years old" ... and one by Mossi where Kaede is just presenting a bottle of jack.

What I really wanted to do as a introduction set, if I had the time, space, backgrounds, and wasnt so out of practice, I had a big storyboard in my mind, a stage with a screen with a clock at four to twelve, then going through the Please cinderella choreography with lyrics, with dynamic camera angles OBS, and as the clock would stricke twele, with the end pose a fade from having the stage dress to the dorky volks lamb vest and ear flap cap, then slowly rummaging and grabbing a beer from a bag, cracking it open, having a slug, and then waddling ahead just mumbling the lyrics... but then again Im not in most happy of mental places at the moment.

That can be added back with photoshop or gimp.

That sounds great, but a lot of work.

I'm the US I think there are limits to where you can advertise alcohol and tobacco. I don't think I ever saw whisky adds outside of magazines aimed at adult audiences. Like you'd find them in GQ or Playboy, but not Time.

Mm.. on the mainland(s) the rules are/were probably the same here. in my case the ferry carriers were/are running between sweden and finland so they were in international waters and hence the half an inch thick catalogues of booze, tobacco and perfumes and candies. Now there are just huge video-displays in the stairwells showcasing stuff.

But overall I guess hollywood/TV product placement has always been a way to skirt the rules.... one of my favorite plugs has to be from Miss Congeniality:

"Gimme a pint.

Half?

No, Full.

*pint of ben and jerrys chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream appears

You're starting early.

Yea, im gonna get chip-faced."

Hope you're feeling better! This is a really stylish picture and nails the advertising flavor. I dig it!

As the more savvy geezers tend to say .. "Hold my beer."

Although I didnt make the grand stage, no screen, and I also dropped my camera out of vivid since I thought that was what was causing the weird effect on the faceup ... but turns out it was just led-light allergy ...

anyhoo, a bit lazy to post the whole coreography here (go to flickr if you wish...)

Things worthy of note... That dress is the most annoying thing ever to pose with, with the various bits and pieces flying all over the place once you move the doll in any direction, and the stiletto heels are a pain in the butt to get a good balance going on.

but here's the main return to earth bit I was thinking...

(As a side note, I just binged "The World god only knows", and I had forgotten just what a sledgehammer the third season ending is ... so yea, not all girls get to be special)

Also the beer "label" is a mighty car mods reference if you were curious.

Overstaying the welcome perhaps a bit, but after dusting off my 3D printer for some missing car-bits, I decided to print something on my accessory project folder at the same time:

Kaede032

Saori Hayami also voiced Haqua in Kaminomi, so I decided to have some fun with this connection...

I still want to do the emote versions of the clip, but for now I just settled on this:

52284831628_0af588650a_c.jpg

Kaede033

... Obivously the more hip thing to do would have been to make Yor Briars / Forgers Hairband, and icepicks, but this is what I had on stand-by.. but maybe one day..

Then there a certain amusing foldable scythe, and also If I wanted to go really perticular with the voice connection, a pair of red hearing aids...
