My Growing Dollfie Family

All credit to the lovely Kirika for braving the beach in December, especially when dogs are allowed on the beach. To be fair it's really glorious today (last week it was -4°C here).

I rushed out to shoot a load of beach photos with this outfit because I want to put her in something else later. That will take a while because somebody's going to have to give their bodysuit to Kirika.

Kirika's definitely a great addition to our lineup. I'd say she definitely has Western looking features... maybe a European dad and a Japanese elf mom or something. Oh course the blonde wig probably makes a big difference too.

I'm terrified her hair feature will snap, but with this outfit the more likely thing to happen is for the bikini strap fastening threads to break.

Oh and I reset her ears as I realised some of her fringe was caught behind them.

Who requested I make this video? Probably nobody 😂. Head swapping was considered taboo in our household and as soon as we did it Volks decided to re-release Rin. So that's karma.

I quite like MDD Kizuna AI. MDD Towa is quite comical and MDD Uzuki Shimamura is really quite strange (so we go very well together).

Thanks for doing this. I tried this with some of my girls and didn’t really like the result, but have been curious about how other heads would look on the MDD body. Of all your girls, I think Asuna looked the best on an MDD, probably because her head looks so small.

Thank you for posting the link, I had no idea the Dollfie rabbit hole went so deep. I had searched the Dollfie store for elf ears but never saw any. Found some 3D printed ones on Etsy that looked good but Lucy will be staying human form. She is so cute and I'm really pleased I got her. I'm too broke to add another doll to the collection, for now we are going to concentrate on getting them some outfits over the holiday period. There is already a white album Rina set on its way so she will have a nice warm coat for winter.

Photo's of my girls will be incoming at some point, I think I need to have been a member for 2 weeks and reach a post count of 30.

Towa looks lovely, regardless of where you took the photo.  I love the twin tails and Lucy may adopt that style.

Edit: I missed the photo Kirika looking beautiful on the beach, brave girl for braving the cold in her bikini, and the dogs. My SmD Chitose often gets hair stuck in her ears, partly my fault for the blutac that holds them in place 😬

Look forward to the photos. I credit Towa for making me get back into photography. I actually only had Towa for 18 months before deciding to go Dollfie mad. We did have a few outfits although maybe it's a blessing that not many things fit her.

Elf ears are a bit complex as I've just examined my girls and they all have very different ears. Also I'm terrified they'll break! Actually what I really want are some Chobits ears.

We have a snow coat coming tomorrow, just in time for the warm weather lol. After that no more Dollfies although I do desparately want Pureneemo Emilia to go with my Rem and Ram.

I'm sure Volks will release another elf soon... they are very popular. Lego are making a Rivendell set appearently and Re:Avatar is coming out so maybe 2023 will be the year of the elf.

Kirika is now in my .signature after some major photoshopping.

Kizuna and Kirika will be redressed next. Kirika's new outfit is phenomenal. Due to a bodysuit shortage, Kizuna will have to go into something that won't stain, but she looks fabulous in everything.

I highly recommend holding the Dollfie by the neck when removing or reattaching heads. - That reduces unnecessary stress on the frame and gives you much better control too.

The news from our house is that Towa is completely smitten with new arrival Kazuha. She's pretty mysterious and maybe this is why Towa feels drawn to her. Towa is pretty sure she is related in some way to Kirika, but she's not yet figured out the genetics of that.

She's our first girl who Mandarake claimed had some "issues" but she turned out to be near darned perfect. I think they were put off by her previous owner removing her eye glue. It's kind of an advantage because now she's our second girl with removable eyes (it's considered taboo in our household to melt eye glue).

Since arriving Rin definitely thinks she is head Dollfie. I mean, she cost the most and she has the best outfit and all...

Expect major clickwars for this Queen of the Dollfies when she is re-released 😒.

That is quite an outfit she is wearing. The gold matches her hair really well and she does have an air of royalty about her in that photo.

Rin is great. The Daughter of Evil set is a reminder that sometimes Volks find a stash of old outfits and put them up for sale on their website. You have to be quick though. The Samurai Yaiba outfit Uzuki's wearing in my .sig was another fantastic find. As for my real family... don't go there lol.

My doll family had a good Christmas. I've just updated my .sig to include Kazuha. She's a bit mysterious and looks quite similar to another girl in our house. Towa is completely inseparable from Kazuha. Wherever Towa goes, Kazuha goes too.

Incidentally, Kazuha is named after the singer Kazuha Nakamura from KPop group Le Sserafim. Hopefully she won't try that flexible leg thing the hoomun Kazuha does, or her leg's gonna fall off for sure!!!

While I was playing my new obsession Fortnite, these two littleuns sneaked into my photo studio and took hundreds of photos of each other.

First up I'm overjoyed MDD Misaki's shoulder surgery earlier today was a complete success. Instead of floppy arms she can now hold things.

Her wig needs a bit of TLC but the photobooth has a kind of static charge that makes loose ends worse. Her legs are still loose but to all her detractors... look I can stand without a support!!!

Oh and she no longer has roller skates because Yayoi stole them while Misaki was in doll hospital!!!

At least we can now see her super cute chubby feet!

Misaki needs more outfits - while her hoodie is MDD sized she's actually wearing DDdy shorts (Towa said they were way too tight on her).

I think Yayoi's photo is better. She was a really awkward teen and I wasn't sure about her at first. Today she had minor brain surgery - I stuck some blu-tac in her head to stop her neck wobbles. I don't know if this is a design fault with her head or maybe just an issue with this particular Yayoi.

She looks really grown up in this photo. With the right outfit and wig she could be a really awesome Dollfie.

I came home from the supermarket to this scene. I don't know what's happening but I think there's been a bit of a tussle over who gets to wear the fabulous Yaiba outfit.

It took me ages to put Asuna into it last night and then I realised it just doesn't fit very well. I'm pretty sure the outfit should fit Asuna, but it doesn't.

Either that or Towa has showed her where the snacks are stored. That top jacket button just will not stay fastened, and I had problems with the top shirt button too. It's a shame because the socks and leg holsters are better suited to a DD rather than a DDS.

So it looks like there will be the long process to transfer it back to Kizuna again.

I really like Kizuna in her current outfit too. She says the Converses are super comfy too. Also while headswapping is considered taboo in our household, wearing the wrong tone bodysuit is not... I definitely think Kizuna looks better in semi-white.

As for her wig...

Now they're reunited I've put Yayoi Takatsuki in her default outfit. I wasn't sure about her when she first arrived, but she's growing on me and I think she looks fantastic in her outfit.

Iori was annoyed I didn't notice that stray hair of her that ruined the shot. I was too focused on getting them both to stand upright (neither are supported in this shot). Her wig has a lot of flounce to it.

I don't know if the 🐰 has a name or is a feature of Idolmaster, but for now he's called Usagi.

Surprising fact: Yayoi has real metal bangles and there are powerful(ish) magnets in her hair accessories and necklace.

I really need to 3D print Yayoi a YAYOI necklace.

Its name is 'Charles Donatello the 18th' according to Iori, but everyone calls it Usa-chan.

There has been a cake stealing incident in our Dollfie household. Kirika decided to don the Macross Frontier uniform and interrogate everybody, beginning with Asuna.

I'm pretty sure it wasn't Asuna. Kirika believes it was her though, because Asuna's top button will no longer stay fastened.

Asuna appears to have escaped the cake interrogations by adopting a new persona. She is now Erika Sendo from Fortune Arterial.

All Fortune Arterial outfits are my grails, so this was a good initial find. I wasn't initially over excited about this particular outfit appearing on Mandarake, but it looks really great on Asuna. It is also featured in the gorgeous art book I picked up in Tokyo years ago. Again many thanks to @MagicalRozen for the wonderful Miku style wig. I definitely want more colourful wigs for my girls. Fortunately two similar wigs are hopefully arriving early next week.

I guess Fortune Arterial is slipping away from memory, but failing that Asuna could cosplay as Jerry Seinfeld in the Puffy Shirt episode.

Uzuki is wearing one of the recently arrived Cotindoll mystery box wigs. I have mixed feelings about this one. It's kind of nice but I slightly prefer her AliExpress one in the same style but with bobbed ends. I must admit the Cotindoll wigs are very well made though. They're really easy to put on the girls' heads and their packaging is first rate too.

I have a very large Dollfie family now, but Uzuki is a huge favourite. It took 18 months for Towa and I to choose Dollfie #2. It was a very wise decision.

Actually I'm rebuilding the Lego Seinfeld set. I bought a few as they bombed in the UK so are being heavily discounted.

I've also rebuilt my .signature to add in the latest additions. I had to do Iori twice, because she's a diva and was blocking Kizuna.

It's getting super crowded down there, but there is room for Yor Forger 😆.

I found this couple of nyan nyans in my house. Yor would like nyan hands too but I had to break the news to her that they would be pretty low down on our list of priorities right now.

Yor is settling in well and is busy exploring Towa's wardrobe. She might have to be the last Dollfie to arrive, as there is no way I could squeeze any more photos into our .sig without some sort of rules change 😁.

I might switch to doing a group photo but I don't honestly know where they would all fit.

It's actually Towa borrowing SD Mytyl's Reunion outfit 😆.

I have also put SD Mytyl into a DD outfit (just to annoy the resin purists on DoA lol) but I'm really having trouble getting Mytyl to keep wigs on. I really need one of those wig ring things. Also I just realised Mytyl doesn't have moveable feet so I need to switch her to an outfit that has heels.

I notice you’ve said something to this effect multiple times now in different threads, first asking if it’s okay and then deciding it wasn’t. I’m not trying to be rude by asking this but…why? Volks have plenty of official photos of SDs wearing clothes made for DDs and vice versa. They even have a size guide on each outfit that includes both brands. Most people who collect both use eachothers outfits, if they fit. (one of my MDDs used to exclusively wear the shirt from my SDCute Renee until I managed to misplace it somewhere) I’ve been into both resin and vinyl nearly 8 years now (which is a lot less than most of my friends, mind) but have yet to see a single ‘purist’ who thinks you aren’t allowed to cross the clothing streams (of clothing literally made by the same brand) whether on DOA, at in person doll meets or in Japanese hobby spaces. I don’t know if you keep saying this because you’re genuinely worried about backlash but I can guarantee nobody cares if it makes you feel any better.

The next plan is to take a group photo of everybody wearing co-ordinated outfits. This plan is advancing well. Also the photo might have to be retaken as only Marisa and the DDP girls appear to be looking at the camera. Almost everybody else is staring at the 📺 waiting for the next episode of Demon Slayer.

I always love seeing big group shots Although I can understand it can be a hassle to get them all together, haha! Gorgeous girls!

At some point there will hopefully be a group shot with everybody wearing the same anime franchise's outfit.

Here's a clue as to what it might be. I don't know what Kaito and Len will wear... I'm not sure if there were boys in the show.

If there's a point to all this... I'm not sure. I am working on a concept for Youtube though, and it will be great if everybody is coordinated.

Anyway, here's Rin and Yor. Rin has given up being Evil Rin and is going for a bit of an elven look. Yor is really mad at me for not buying her cozy outfit yesterday, but I keep telling her Buyee glitched on me.

Additionally as this is my thread I reserve the right to post this incredible music video. I would not be surprised if Volks made a Miku reboot, although they've kind of spoiled things by releasing her Snow Miku outfit already. Maybe they can reboot Sakura Miku instead of Snow Miku.
