How to modify eye wells and other head parts with epoxy putty?

Hello!

I would like to start practicing changing a few facial features of Dollfie Dream heads... I saw other artists using the Tamiya Epoxy Putty. What is the difference between the smooth and quick type? Plus, do the Volks acrylic paint match the skin tones of Dollfie heads? Thanks in advance to your answers!

I'm no mod master but I found the difference between the two types of putty! Ahem: "The Quick Type epoxy putty dries more quickly than the smooth type, but does not give as smooth of a finish, and is a bit more delicate after drying. It can be sanded, glued, tooled, and painted after drying."-VolksUSA.

So quick = dries faster, a little rough, a little delicate

Smooth = dries slower, stronger, more smooth

Also, I don't think the paints match any doll skin tone. They seem to be for face ups/cosmetics but not for skin matching. I know they have putty that matches the SD skin tones, but that's for eyes.

Hope I helped 😄

Wow, thanks to all of your answers! I'll probably test on a piece of scrap vinyl first.
