Smart doll cancelled order

Just found out the reason all my smart doll orders are getting cancelled is because of the very first one I tried to order I had to cancel the order because I couldn’t afford it at the time due to personal reasons, I’m so disappointed and bumed out because I’ve wanted this doll for several years since I was really little and now I can never purchase from the website again, I just wanted to get myself something for my birthday that I’ve dreamed about for years, I just wanted to get the smart doll before it’s too late for me

I'm sorry to hear that you have been blocked to purchase from the website. You can look in the secondhand market if they are selling the doll that you like. I hope that it works out for you!

I'm really sorry your orders keep getting canceled, it sounds like you may have been blocked for canceling the first order. I know under the "why you shouldn't purchase" warnings/info it sounded like they can be pretty uptight about order cancellations 😰

Maybe you could try contacting their customer service to explain and see if they'll unblock you? Or maybe if it's just a glitch in their system they can fix it?

Maybe you could try to purchase from one of the SmartDoll dealers (fabric and friends in the US and animesugoi in the EU)? I think they all share the 'banlist', but maybe it's worth a try? I'm sorry to hear this happened to you, it's really unfortunate. Maybe you could ask a friend or family member to make the purchase if all else fails? 😣

So sorry to hear this. Like another user said, maybe you can find the doll on the secondhand market, or check out the dolls available from Azone, Dollce, Parabox and Volks. Maybe you can find one you like more there that you can get instead.

The dealers do all share the banlist, and if anyone orders for you, they have to completely avoid mentioning you or they'll ALSO be banned. Unfortunately once a ban happens I've never heard of anyone reversing it.

When you say you cancelled the order, how do you mean? Is there something you can click to cancel the order, did you email asking to cancel, or did you do a chargeback via your end? If it was the first two I think it’s really unfair to completely ban you rather than at least giving you another chance, however a chargeback is a bannable offense for quite a few online retailers, not just Smartdoll.

My suggestion is secondhand market. I've seen many Smartdolls for sale in fb groups lately. If you cannot immediately find the model you're looking, just place WTB post!

I’m sorry, I’ve heard a lot about Smartdoll being really strict about bans 😭 It really makes me feel iffy about the company even though they have such good diversity compared to other brands. I hope you can get it revised or secondhand!

Cancelling orders is also a big no for a few other shops.

Volks, for example, is (usually) banning you from lotteries if you are entering, win but don‘t pay in the end. Sucks if it is due to personal reasons but yeah…it is how it is.

I have the feeling Japanese shops are a little bit stricter with cancellations in general compared to shops from other countries.

I'm so sorry to hear this 😢 I've heard of this happening to others ... Hopefully you can find the sculpt you like on the 2nd hand market soon!

The drawback to the second hand market is that you can't get parts, and the frame on SmD is known to break. 

If you like the anime styles you might want to look at Volks Dollfie Dreams, or Obitsu Iris Collect. If you prefer more realistic sculpts there is Angel Philia, but fair warning, their bodies are more intimately detailed.

Since you have no real current investment in SmartDoll, it's probably best to cut your losses and look at alternatives. At least you got burned by the "reasons to not buy a SmartDoll" before buying a SmartDoll.

That would make sense! I’ve been blocked by Japanese twt users for following/liking from an english account haha, it does help to view it from that perspective and understand it’s not personal. I do think the Smartdoll facebook order cancellation thing was a bit crazy though, if you’ve heard of that! (everyone in a fairly sized group got banned)

I can't see anything you posted. I think you have to have X number of posts before you can share photos, but you might not have gotten a reply yet because Japan is getting hit with a pretty massive typhoon at the moment.

I would write an email explaining the situation. Be sincere and really emphasize how sorry you are that you had to cancel an order in the past, but that you promise that you are going to be more responsible in the future. The worst thing that can happen is that they say no. Just do everything you can to try and right the wrong the company may feel about past issues.
