Repainting this MDD head?

I bought this from Mandarake recently:

Volk MDD Super Robot Wars Latooni (Latune) Subbotum

In your opinion, would it be better to sell the head as is or repaint it? I am not sure what the head is worth on its own and I don't know if this is a rare doll or anything.

Hard to say. You got the purple dress version which is more common than the black dress version. Saw the advertisement on mandarake and seeing what you paid for her and how her value was 11 and 9 years ago, I don’t think she is on the most wanted list.

Below is my opinion on the head. 

If you want to keep the head for yourself and want to repaint it. I would choose that over selling. I think this head with an unique well done face up could be really nice. 
Also the head as is looks great to. Black or red eyes, grey or grey with purple highlights would look great on her.

Forgot the Onion

When push comes to shove, she is YOUR doll so it's YOUR decision.  That thought process is what got me to repaint my Miku and I have no regrets. It also got me over the anxiety to repaint the Out of Base head that became my MDD Abby Normal, and to both repaint and mod my DDB Kirito and Smart Doll Eiji Kai. I love all of them, love that they're unique, and love how they all turned out. I know that not everyone is quite this. . .bold, but just another way to look at it. 

Latooni isn't super common but she's not particularly coveted. . .and frankly I think the reason people don't really want (or remember) her is in large part because she has a blatantly early DD faceup. I've long thought she would be gorgeous with a custom faceup. 

Another thing to consider is that some older heads do have occasional yellowing or discoloration, so you could treat that in between wiping and repainting. Get her cleaned up, give her some new life! At least, that's my vote lol.
