Hey there!

My name is Gus, and i have been collecting anime figurines (pvc and polystone alike) for over 8 years now, and just recently i managed to snatch an ongoing custom DD from Yahoo Auctions for real bargain!

I hope i can improve her (Since some details are still a bit off), and count on everyone opinion on how to carefully proceed, since i am not used to 1/3 vinyl scales yet (=spacer.png

Oooh, it's Shiki from Kara no Kyoukai! Pretty cool choice for starting out with 1/3rd scale.

Welcome to the forum! I also fell down the rabbit hole that started with anime figurines (mostly Figma). 😁

You should be able to find lots of useful info on the forum and if something is unclear don't hesitate to ask. - Most of us are happy to help you and your doll out.

Spot on!
I have been amuzing the idea of making a 1/3 Shiki for quite some time now, but never went with it due to my lack of experience and budget to make her look at least similar to the original concept.
Imagine my surprise when i found out one up for sale, looking pretty damn close to the one i envisioned all those years ago for just 35,000 yens.
In any case, her hairstyle is not looking that good, her kimono is missing an "obi" and a white undercoat, and i still need to find some boots.

For her knife, i had a small replica (I am pretty sure its a letter openner), that could probably do the trick, but i still need to see if it fits her hand well enough

Welcome to the forum. I visited Japan 2007-10 and picked up a few figures and books in Mandarake, mostly Little Busters, Haruhi Suzumiya and Fortune Arterial stuff. It's only in the last couple of years I've got into dolls. I now have 5 DD and I also collect Azone Pureneemos. Pureneemos are worth a look if you like Figmas. They're a similar size (I think) but Pureneemos are super poseable and they do quite a few anime ones, like the Re:Zero girls. Pureneemo Chika and Kaguya are also very awesome indeed.

As to accessories, I bought a 3D printer this year as it's a brilliant thing to have if you want to make your own DD accessories. I made Chika and Kaguya a bucket and spade to use on the beach...

Niiice!

I visited japan in 2017, and manged to see the new volks store in radio kaikan, it was probably there that i was set to get a DD whenever possible.

I am not sure if this would count in the same category as pureneemos, but i have some "hybrid dolls" from Azone (They are a mix between vinyl and pvc, with real clothing), and some older "Chara Dollfie" from volks
