Fixing Daiquiri (Obitsu 50 Hime Ane)

I sometimes forget, but my first vinyl doll (and my first anime doll in general) is my Obitsu 50 boy Daiquiri! He has a Hime Ane head, and since it's so round and he's so tall it gives him sort of a funny look. I got him in 2019, and his faceup has been in dire need of an update for a while.

I like the general vibe of his old face (I love overly cartoony expressions) but I've definitely gotten better at fine lines. Parts like the eyebrows were meant to be wobbly, but the eye lines are quite messy. His eyes are also terrible, at the time I just bought white marbles and painted on them.

When I wiped this old faceup, I was a bit disappointed to find that it had stained him pretty badly. He also had a wig stain so I did a few stain treatments... the wig stain came out, but the faceup stains didn't budge. Apparently the watercolor pencils I used for his original faceup were really prone to staining orange.

I didn't mind too much, though, since I was planning on recreating his faceup closely anyways.

I decided to try modding his eyes larger, since I was obviously trying to achieve that look in my first faceup. I overdid it a little, lol

And here's his new faceup! So happy with how the new faceup hid the staining, you can barely tell it's there. I ended up making him some super tiny iris eyes using actual eye bases, and they fit a LOT better. So glad to have my first boy back with a fresh faceup. 🥰
