Male Dollfie Dreams?

The first time I saw SQLabs "Akane" Head I was like "This is a boy's face!"

But other heads could be good for guys, too...

 

I have a male RPG character I love a lot, and he even is of the more slender type of guy, so I think one day I will get a DD Body and sand down a S-Bust, if Volks has not released a male body till then...

Oh, and Lion from Umineko...would love it if Volks would release him(yes, I think he's a boy) as a Character-Doll...

Unfortunately, that depends on when my bank decides to let Volks accept my credit card to make my purchase. ">_> Ichiko's nose for some reason got a weird stain on it that's not coming off despite me trying everything I can think of, and it's on the very tip of her nose too, so I've been thinking I may have to alter my plans and get Yukino as my DDIII so I can get Ichiko a nice head with a face-up in the process. Though I do still want to get Aoi v2 for the spare DDII body I have here, so maybe if all ends up well, I will end up with two DDIII male guys.

In theory, I wouldn't mind if they decided to release some male DD but I also can't think of a single male anime character off the top of my head that I would actually want to buy. I guess I'm not overly fond of boy dolls, I do at least have an Iplehouse Claude for my girls though so they are not completely devoid of male companionship.

True, but I'm not sure how that's different than the yuri fanboys that are already into DDs. There's plenty of DD-on-DD photos out there with females only.

Who's to say we aren't already here? I'm a major yaoi fangirl and proud of it, but that doesn't mean that my next 2 DDs won't be girls, in fact Rainie and Naiomi are most definitely girls. If I ever get to the point to get Lucas (a modded DD guy I'm going to work on after Naiomi is finished) he will most definitely be a yaoi fanboy as well, because someone has to protect Tamayuki from the overabundance of DD girls.

 

I am rather curious as to how yaoi fangirls negatively impact DDs, especially because we would still be buying the bodies, or other bits from Volks, supporting the company as a whole. Plus if there is more boys, then in my ideal world all of my DDs would have a cohort of one sort or another so that means Rainie and Naiomi would still needs friends... Man, collecting DDs is like trying to collect pokemon. In fact, I bought the last two EB Mini F(?) boys that Volks had, and I would have bought more but they were discontinued a couple of years ago.

 

So yaoi fangirls are bad for Volks/DDs how? (I'm not annoyed, just very curious about the reasoning behind the quoted comment.)

Some of us are already here, but I doubt we'd have to worry about any current resin-collecting yaoi fans ( yes they are everywhere) suddenly collecting DDs if boys are released. For some reason, there is a stigma in the resin BJD hobby towards those who collect vinyl because they are not "real" BJDs or some nonsense. Even if not due to that stigma, most resin collectors seem opposed to the anime-like faces of DD, so it would be rather unlikely.

 

However, it would probably be more likely that Obitsu releases their 65cm boy body and SQ labs begins releasing male DD-styled resin heads long before VOLKS makes a male DD character.

...If all goes to plan, I may do an Sq lab head order and get a 45cm boy body from Parabox to make some cute boys to go with my girls.

I was looking at the 45cm body today and started to really wonder if just the chest piece would fit on the MDD body. Has anyone tried yet? Tamakuki would love to run around in swimming trunks and no shirt!

 

Also, is Parabox's "white skin" like Volk's white skin, or like the normal skin? I've never seen any of the dolls in person except the DDs we have.

Parabox white skin is inbetween DD normal and DD white. I'd say it's closer to DD normal than white.

Putting a DD normal head on a Parabox white body looks okay... but if you were to put a DD white head on a Parabox white body you'd really notice the difference in all kinds of lighting.

I made a male DD, Haruki, who is currently on a DDII body with an Obitsu 60cm chest, however, in the near future I have plans to move him to a DDIII body with an Obitsu 55cm chest. I'll be posting pictures as parts arrive so that comparisons with the various bodies and chest parts can be made.

If someone do not mind BJD for anime characters, then immortality of soul have some heads based on anime heros. they are not easy to get tho - ordering period is not so often n short, 3-5 days usually

This is proof that a male DD will look good hehehe. I found these pics while browsing for Lucy pics. Now, I fancy buying a Mari head just to make a boy. Now if only male 65cm body was available, I won't have to custom a DD body.

Wow, Saber does make a good bishounen and as for the obitsu 65cm body, I think that you can order them from Parabox. I think they just don't sell them there or on their website because of all of the complaints of their 65cm obitsu girl being too heavy and soometimes breaking. you could always ask them if they could order on one from obitsu for you.

^ Yep. I always wondered if the reason Gilgamesh looks like he does in the Fate/ series is because he's trying to take the old male Saber design ideas into account.
