Went looking at the pics again and checked the Parabox site and found the Obitsu Misuzu head. I'm so happy! It's not like I need any more projects started at the moment but I'm glad to save the pics for reference. He could easily be the cousin of Eddie (boy Yui) that I'm planning to make, but no so much of a pain in the rear.

 

 

I do have to say that the similarities are 'curious.'

In the vinyl doll choices who is the est choice for a DDS girls boyfriends?

 

To elaborate... I am looking to get a body for a guy doll the will be Errors boyfriend and he is about a head taller then her ( she is a DDS Mariko ). But I don't know what body to start looking at. Either dollfie dream mod or a obitsu body? Any ideas?

I suggest a modded DD III if you aren't too concerned. about the hips. Or the hybridized obitsu 60cm. However if you want him more muscular I would go for the obitsu 65 cm but he might be too tall.

I am planing on her brother to be a 65 ob so I guess I could get on and then if its right or not get another when I can afford it XD. I am looking at the 60obitsus mods but the body to me just looks to small got all the leg they have . The dd body's are ok but just not the manly tummy I wanted but I would go for that if I had to. What does the dd body with the obitsu male tummy look like? Has any one tried this??

I am super excited because I'm starting my first male DD project, Kanon from Umineko no Naku Koro ni!

 

 

He will be a DDH-05 (with a custom faceup, of course!) But I'm going back and forth about which body he should use, though, which is why I'm going to you guys for help!

 

I'm very, very confused about the world of Obitsu, so I'm worried about getting a male body and it being the wrong kind or something. Should I go that route (and how?), or should he just use a DD S-bust body since he has a very feminine figure anyway? I'm actually leaning more toward the S-bust. Once I figure out the body I'll commission the clothes I'm looking forward to this!

I put my DDH-07 head on a 60cm Bobobie resin boy body. It's not the most user friendly body in the world, but luckily I was used to it because I already had a Bobobie boy. I hot-glue sueded and restrung the body with stronger elastic to make him pose better.

 

 

The resin/vinyl match is fairly good, the body is just a little lighter than the head. It's a very slender body.

I would love a male DD...which is weird, because I'm not really drawn to male BJDs generally.

 

I really like the anime aesthetic though...and I think it could lead to some adorable pairings.

While I'm perfectly fine with having a girl that could cosplay or just redress to be a different character for the day, I can't do that with males. D:

If I ever had a male DD, I'd have a set character in mind. I wonder why I'm different with girl dolls. :/

I would be so very, very happy if Volks did all the guys from Free! They all have girly names so that's close enough for Volks isn't it?

Here is the first rough glimpses of my Kiyoteru!

 

He's borrowing Dakota's wig, American Girl glasses, Tama's clothes, & Momo's eyes, but this is the first time I've been able to see him in DD form. I'm really happy to see that I'm headed in the right direction for making him look more like himself after I've had his head for over a year now. Even being incomplete, he's really cute!

 

It was Momo's default eyes that finally made it possible for me to put this 'rough draft' together and have him look very much like Kiyoteru should! This is the first time I've gotten pictures of him being more than just a head! He will eventually be an Obitsu boy, but I'm pretty amazed that he is on a DDS M bust body! He looks short because the pants he was wearing are not even remotely long enough and it looked odd, so I had him kneeling. (I had to crop the other pics so it wouldn't be noticeable.)

 

He's so cute that I just can't stop staring!

Being able to play with Momo's eyes has really helped a lot in either Raven finding some that he likes better for Sohi and I can have Momo's for Kiyo, or I'll find/make a pair that I think fit him even better than these do. As it is though, these are almost spot on for him.

 

Raven keeps laughing at the oversized glasses, but even so I think he's cute! I'm so happy that I have a pic for him now to add in my sig when I update it. Ug, still trying to figure out how to squish 3 more pics in there...

Technically when you make a DD/Obitsu hybrid boy, that's exactly what you are doing and wht I intend for Kiyo and most of my other boys. Unfortunately it has been a bit of a scramble trying to find the sculpts that work well for boys where they aren't all bishonen. Granted I'm the type that like that ascetic, but even so I'd love to have older DD type boys too, like late 20s to 30s range.

 

Plus there is the fuss that the Obitsu bodies don't match the DD style ascetics, and it is just silly that Volks has SD boys, but not DD boys.

It's pretty strange they don't offer male characters/bodies.

But well, they have to keep something to do for the future, don't they?

I strongly suggest 4 dolls that need to be made or project base from volks. Aires & Tiffa Lockheart from Final Fantasy 7 and two Male, Cloud and Seph as well. I think these four will and i mean IT WILL BE SOLD out world wide >D and super. It gets the Game fans, character Fans. ALL AGREE?

I think (in quite a bit of time, not "hey we just did everything overnight") they should make 4 body types like the actual dd. A standard one (like the DDiii) that could picture characters like FF Sephirot or Squall, a smaller and less "tonic" one (like the DDS) for character like Evangelion's Shinji, a little, MDD like for children and a more muscolar body for bigger, more western-comics-like characters (the equivalent of the DDdy)

I think (in quite a bit of time, not "hey we just did everything overnight") they should make 4 body types like the actual dd. That is why i suggest a Project would be LEGENDARY >D, If they make it right on the make body and heads. The hair might be tough on cloud, seph would be easy.

I disagree about making a Final Fantasy DD. I think they would be better off as Super Dollfies.

 

Shinji and Kaworu are definitely fine for DDs though.

You're right. I was using them as reference for body type/size.

Sure! Inuyasha can be a better example for a standard male DD.

 

Though I personally think...

 

Syaoran (Cardcaptor Sakura) = MDD boy

Kite (.hack), Kirito (SAO) = DDS boy

Haseo (.hack), Balmung (.hack), any boy from Uta no Prince Sama, Kaworu Nagisa (Evangelion) = DD boys

Personally I'd vote for Fruits Basket... has a wide range of body sizes:

 

Momiji- MDD

Kiyo, Yuki, Haru- DDS

Shigure, Hatori, Ayame- DD

Grown-up Kyo- DDdy/Beefcake ver.

There is just so much to love in FB... especially Shigure in glasses...
