An update for the 25th SD Dollfie anniversary was confirmed for Volks News, maybe DD 20th is part of that? (It’s on the same site after all)
Since the anniversary is officially in August they might have the most exciting stuff in the Summer issue though. (That is when we typically get Dream Choice News after all 🤔)

The reason 2B is absent (and the other Sailor Moon characters, and Rin/Len) is because this voting is only for DD/DD boys. I think last time they combined DDS/DDdy and MDD/DDP.

Theres also apparently going to be two more surveys after the character request survey, but they’re not announced yet, so that’s exciting! EDIT: just realised the request form is also for DD only, so I assume the other two will be DDS/DDDy and MDD/DDP. I didn’t expect them to split up the character requests (only the rerelease requests), I think that’s cool because there will hopefully be at least 3 winners this way instead of just one.

OOF this is actually a lot harder than I expected it to be. I didn't expect there to be that many dolls to choose from (first time I'm doing this). Was really expecting like a smaller list.

There are so many dolls in here I want... Asuna, Rise, Beatrice, Mashiro, Emilia, ... the list goes on, lol.

I think the best bet is to definitely vote for someone who goes for lots of money. Beatrice, Rise and Asuna are good picks in that regard. It's hard!

Whoever wins I hope it's someone who is hard to get/too pricey on the secondhand market nowadays.

I personally do not understand why the newest dolls are on there (especially Kaito considering he hasn't even fully released yet). I know there are plenty of people who missed out on them and would really want them but still. You'd think people would prefer a doll looongg sold out. I guess they just put all the dolls on there.

 

As for the DD suggestions; what do they mean exactly with "work name"? (作品名) I'm a bit confused on what to put there. I'm assuming it's a weird translation error and that the series name goes there?

I actually have dream characters I'd love to be made, but I can see them working better on a DDS, not DD. I hope they still make one for DDS later on as well.

It’s funny seeing brand new dolls on there including ones that literally aren’t out but it was the same last time they did it. I guess they want to be fair and include every single one?

’Work name’ means the thing the character is from yeah. It’s more an awkward translation than an error (for once) though, it’s the same sort of ‘work’ as saying (for example) ‘CLAMP’s works’, or ‘body of work’, unfortunately simply ‘work name’ is just one of those things that makes more sense in Japanese than English.

Most characters I want to see would also be better as DDS. That’s probably gonna be the survey coming out in May.

For the re-release vote, I’ll be voting Sakura Miku & Luka every day, then alternating between a few others for my third vote per day.

(I rly hope I’d have sufficient funds in time for a Sakura Miku rerelease in particular cuz she would make a perfect Teto Kasane 🤞🏼🤞🏼)

For the new character DD, I’ll be splitting my votes between Kirari Moroboshi & Touma Amagase! And for the eventual MDD vote I’ll be putting in Anzu Futaba (cuz imagine how cute it would be to have Ankira as dolls x3)

I put in Lime from "Saber Marionette J" as my collab suggestion. Hey, I can dream, can't I??

Man, Volks should really just combine some of the first and second versions, like Rin Tohsaka, Emilia, and the Miku Reboots, Honestly, even ones like the Saber Alter trio (any new version should be a DDS, anyway), and the others that reuse the same headsculpts should just be combined, Volks seems to change up the outfits for most rereleases, anyway.  That's around 15 fewer choices, which helps focus the vote on getting more classic, hopefully rare, sculpts reissued.  I'm not saying Miku, Snow Miku and Sakura Miku should all be combined into one entry, but the swimsuit and transfer student Rei Ayanami DDs?  I doubt either one is getting a ton of votes anyway, and the people voting for one probably vote for both, when they might vote for Mari and Asuka, too.  Or maybe maid Rei and Asuka...  

 

Anyway, rant over.  I voted for Jeanne D'Arc, Kirika and Beatrice.  Jeanne is on my want list, and I'd be fine with an Alter or Archer version.  Kirika just because I want another elf DD, and Beatrice to be nice.  I thought about Holo from Spice and Wolf for the character suggestion poll, but she strikes me as a better fit for DDS, so I went with FGo's Ishtar...  What?  She's a favorite of mine, due in part to her Rin connection.

Jeanne is sometimes still available at Doll Point if you really want her. (They seem to rotate combinations of Jeanne/Saber and Akira/2B.)

She’s actually still available on the international site too. They unloaded all their unpaid preorders well over a year ago and there must have been…a lot, cos she’s been in stock ever since. Saber too.

I'm going to try to remember to vote every day! I'm going for Rise, Sakura Miku, and Beatrice for the character poll, and I'll probably split my suggestion poll votes between Chii from Chobits (a classic I'm surprised they've never rebooted into a DD) and Gumi (who I naively hope is the most likely non-Crypton Vocaloid Volks would be willing to license and make).

I'll have to see who I vote for for the DDS and MDD polls. I might throw Gumi in as a DDS suggestion too, I'm not sure who else I'd go for in that size...maybe I'll trawl that one thread we have in here for ideas. 😆

I'm voting for Beautrice, because I know she is highly sought after. I am also voting for Sakura and the reboot Miku. Hard to pick just three.

Yaaasss!! Holo is also my pick for the DDS if they'll do one for DDS later. I have a custom Holo that means a lot to me, but I'd still love an offical one! I'd love to see what Volks would do with her + I can never have too much Holo anyway, lol! And since there is a new Anime announced it's not that unreasonable. So definitely hoping for a DDS poll later down the line as well!

 

For now I put my vote in for Zero Two from Darling in the Franxx. I thought at first she would also work better on a DDS, but seeing as I can only put one character each time and really want to name Holo for the DDS poll should that happen, I decided Zero Two would be my pick for this one. There are plenty of characters Volks did on the DD body I personally would find more fitting on a DDS (Asuna and Emilia come to mind instantly), so at the end of the day it's probably more a personal preference. And if she does somehow win I can always just change the body for a DDS one anyway should I wish so. I don't think Zero Two is too unreasonable, considering she is quite popular. I can definitely see her happening. 

Rooting here for Asuna! I wish they release another version of her for the Alicization arc tho, she's sooo pretty in there.

Maybe recommend DD/DDS can be more characters from SAO 😆 Or...Gundam? I don't think Volks works with Bandai yet lol More Final Fantasy charater would be wonderful too...so hard to choose.

I also feel pressure to actually buy the doll should they win 😆

Really hoping that one of the other polls is for DDy / DDs / DDP because watching the Nier anime has re-awakened my need for 2B!

Last time they did this they combined DDS with DDDy, and MDD with DDP.
