Mo3cha Posted December 26, 2022 I have a small space for my dollfies and was looking for inspo on how I can display my dolls in a small space from your collection display pics.
battrastard Posted December 26, 2022 I live in a 40 foot long "Diesel Pusher" RV, AKA "Motorhome" Eight feet wide, and forty feet long. My Kiddos live in the front, on the passenger seat and the Center Console, where there's plenty of room that I can't even feasibly use, otherwise... Example: I "only" have 13 Kiddos at the moment. SO, If I pushed the issue, seating eight on the center console, and putting the four leaning on the seat on a small platform, putting another four standing in front of them, and, having four more sitting on the edge of the seat, making 12 total on the seat alone. Now, add those eight on the center console to make 20, I could possibly add another four to sit on the dash, to make 24, instead of the 13 I already have!! (No, I'm not Billy, and I don't need another 11 to prove that!) To get back to the original post, If you want to have the room, you'll make the room... 4 4 "Madness takes it's toll, Please have exact change!"

I told myself I could only have one because I “only have room for one”. Five dolls later (with another in the works), obviously that was a lie. Also, they don’t have to be out all the time. If you can make room for their boxes, they can spend most of their time sleeping there, taking up less space. 1

Xiongmao Posted December 26, 2022 I have 10 of them now and they all stand in my apartment's entrance corridor during the day. It's nice and dark in there. During the evenings or in "doll weather" some of them come into the living room. For a while they all came in but it was becoming time consuming moving them so now it's usually a set of three on rotation. If any more arrive I might have to consider some having to go into deep sleep in their boxes. But who to choose? That would be a really difficult decision. 2 My Dollfie doll family 😊. TheWhiteRabbit Posted December 27, 2022 If you have a wee bit of floor space, ladder shelves are great in my opinion (if you don't mind them sitting). When I had a tiny apartment I had a small single one that worked great. I now have three larger ones chained together as I have more space to work in. I used this set up till I had 9 dolls, and I could Tetris them around and fit them quite comfortably on a tiny shelf only a couple feet wide. (sorry for the terrible pictures, they are pretty old lol). You could definitely squeeze a couple more on it also if you were really looking to save space. Many years, and more space later... this is my set up now (it's in Christmas mode, so excuse that lol). 5 Follow me on Twitter https://twitter.com/WhiteRabbit887 Follow me on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/whiterabbitdolls?igsh=czQyZzRweG9hZDM2

Unfortunately, I don't have room for a ladder shelf but maybe I can look into floating shelves (is that what wall shelves are called? lol)
Jezrah Posted December 27, 2022 (edited) I have floating shelves in my living room, though I have more dolls than will comfortably fit there so they also stand around on bookshelves and in my bedroom and office as well. Here's a very old pic of when I had put up the first three shelves across the one wall. I have since added two more of those sized shelves plus a mini sized shelf across the perpendicular wall as well. At some point I'll have to get a shot of it, but I need to tidy up first since I would have to show more of the full space. I have a bad tendency to let clutter accumulate on flat surfaces. I generally keep 5-6 dolls on each of the bigger shelves depending on their pose and size. They are the Ikea Lack shelves. Anna-neko Posted December 27, 2022 i have no idea what kinda spaces u do have, but my girls are displayed anywhere with an empty square to spare! One stood behind my monitor, leaning over it. Another stood on the desk (with the mousepad almost between her legs, honesty way funnier than it should be). Sit them on edges of bookshelves! On top of the dresser! Create a makeshift cushion out of a small towel and perch her on the DVDs pile. Place one by the TV, and when its time to watch your shows just move her over .....
Subaru Posted December 27, 2022 (edited) I have them ontop of a cabinet. I used the following to make a simple display. Daiso Wooden Plant Stands: These look like tables or benches Random potted silk plants, vases, table decorations from Michaels or any craft store (use a coupon) Craft stores usually have risers in the silk plant section that can look like side tables or shelves. It's worth looking. Woven placemat: To simulate the look of a rug. I got mine from target. I like the ones that have the fringes on them lol. I think layering your display helps a lot for taking simple pictures.... ie: background, middle, foreground! I will definitely look into those benches and using different levels, props, and backgrounds to display my dolls in a more dynamic way
Mo3cha Posted December 28, 2022 @Jezrah yea floating shelves may be my best option but I also have some space on top of my dresser I can use 🤔. Also, how do you have one of your dolls scrunched up in that seating position at the last shelf at the left of the pic?

Looks like it’s on an Obitsu body, which can bend the knees further back than a Dollfie. Edited December 28, 2022 by ragnamuffin

Indeed, as @ragnamuffin said she is on an Obitsu 50cm body. The knees can bend further and the torso is softer so it can be squished into a tighter pose than a Volks body. Keep in mind that leaving them in that pose long term can warp the torso vinyl, but it can be popped back into place again with heat.

It looks like Iori (grail) and Marisa (impulse buy) are coming in January, which means Marisa's sidekick Reimu is the new grail. 4 My Dollfie doll family 😊. I started buying DD's in 2012 (I think it was 2012) So my crew has grown very slowly in that time to be honest. I love the feeling of unboxing a new (or used) doll and fitting them into the family, so I don't see stopping adding them anything soon 😁 3 Follow me on Twitter https://twitter.com/WhiteRabbit887 Follow me on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/whiterabbitdolls?igsh=czQyZzRweG9hZDM2
