Doll Plans for 2023

My plan was supposed to be no dolls period! But, the best laid plans...

•I ended up getting Yor on Buyee (missed the clickwar). 

•Will likely get Anya as well

•Kaito has already been pre-ordered but he is technically a 2022 buy🤣

•Not a doll but have a 15 inch Erza on the way

•Plus I got the Pullip Carebears gal

So yeah, my 'no doll' plans have been for naught. I might as well just plan go get more dolls and leave it at that. I do want to get active with photographing them and creating dioramas. One thing that has been on future plans is getting an ikea billy/oxberg bookcase to display all my dolliehs in.☺️

Well, that kinda went out the window!! 

I do have to go pick up a box from Mandarake this weekend, (secret, secret!!) which has a Dynamite body, BUT, the head is going to be for a different project!! 

After I find a DDS body, and probably look around for a Yoko head, maybe, that's still up in the air. 

(new head, DDS body for "Secret, Secret!") DDdy body and another head for a companion for Merri. 

And I still need to get all the other stuff I mentioned before, too.

No more dolls 😂😂😂😂😂.

I think Yor's arrival has stirred me up a bit lot. Her semi-white skin looks absolutely amazing. There's also something reassurringly solid about the DDdy body that makes them so good as emotional support dolls.

So Yor is stunningly gorgeous and already a firm favourite.

One teeny purchase I'd like to make is to get her some earrings. I'm petrified of losing her official ones (the fasteners are really tiny). I guess Etsy might be a good place to look for some.

Ideally my plans are

- Get more clothing and shoes
- Get at least one detolf  
- Learn how to make eyes and do faceups
- Maybe get one more MDD, as a friend for my first one! I love the DDH-19 sculpt and it looks adorable on a Mochi-ashi body

I'd also love to try my hand at making a diorama, there are so many neat ones out there and it seems like it'd be a really fun project to take on!

I thought i had to buy only Kaito and that is it! but noo... i bought Yor, and then the Len Kagamine reboot so of course i have to buy him.

And the Anya announcement, I hope she will be out a lot after the Kagamine Twins release so I have time to save some money.

Wahahaha! You'll be competing with Billy soon. 🤣 Or maybe not. @baldylox has more dolls in house than all of us combined 😂 I still remember the days when he said he'd stop at 30🤣🤣

On this note, I just saw Rin and am debating on getting her but since I accidentally (cough, cough) entered for Lady Oscar, I might have to schedule a few more overtimes to pay for the lot. 😂

With my newest additions 😄 I'm actually at 164 now.  And I have one more on layaway so she'll make 165.

I can remember when I first got Manami that I never thought I'd own another due to the price.  But then I got Rei and Yoko in Japan and that was that.  Number 30 was Mirai and I do recall saying no more.  But once I hit 50, I just gave up because I knew there'd be no end to it.  And I'm fine with that!  😉

My plan for this year is finally getting a MDD head and saving up for a body.  Her name will be Kana and she'll wear Girly-kei (Jirai-kei) clothes.

I also need a body for Midori my DDH-08. Both are kinda new to me since I only had resin dolls so far. 

Really excited since I wanted a Dollfie Dream for years now. 

Well, here is to already going off the "no more dolls plan." I just pre-ordered Rin off Volks Japan.🤣🤣🤣 And like I mentioned, this is on top of entering the lottery for Lady Oscar. Muahahaha! I think I'm at 23 of the bigger sized Dollfies and BJDs and I don't even know how many of the smaller pureneemo, pullips and blythes as well as resin msd sized dolls.🤣🤣🤣

I still plan on selling a few, but man is it difficult to not get new ones. Volks has been doing some stellar releases lately.

There have been no more dolls for a while, but there have been many new outfits. I'm definitely being more strategic in my buying. It has not gone unnoticed the UK is in an optimal timezone for YJA auction ends. There have been a couple of incredible buys lately, like getting a bundle 4 items for the same price as the main outfit normally sells for.

I still want Rin and Len because although I paid a lot for original Rin she's gone all Evil on me. At least the twins can be paid for in two installments.

MDD Marisa needs Reimu but I'm in no hurry for her.

I find Azone's Kurumi Tokisaki intriguing (here). Maybe I'll make a whole Empty series of dolls with mismatched eyes.

There are still quite a few Pureneemos on the buy list. I'm still totally stoked to have picked up Nezuko Kamado on the cheap, and it's especially sweet given how tremendously awesome Demon Slayer is.

Downsizing here. I had planned to just have 3, but then my stupid fingers entered the lottery for SD Marie Antoinette. Definitely paring down collection, clothing, and what not. My goal is to get a Nikon Z50. Not looking forward to selling, especially the doll clothes. It's such a pain!

Beautiful doll, but don't waste money on her extra battle uniform. The pleather on her's and Sakura's was notorious for developing large cracks after a few years so it's likely that the set will be junk by now.

I can understand not wanting to miss out on Rin and Len because of how popular they are. I'd probably find a way to fund another Miku preorder, especially if she was Sakura. I sold mine and I miss her ♥

Thanks - it would be nice to have it for completeness, but I'm not really a fan of it anyway. I did spot her wearing it in the anime. I'll definitely put her in her full set. I hope her boots aren't pleather, but they look pretty generic anyway. The biggest unknown with her will be... will her maracas actually work 🥴.

She has been dispatched to the warehouse, so all being well she could be coming home next week 🥰. I think she could be my most senior DD in terms of release dates, although I do have much older outfits.

I think the main issue is that the outfit is mostly pleather, so outside of the cloth pants, gloves, and necklace, you would be getting a bag of ruined pleather for $150+.

Thanks - I did find this site when I was searching for info about Erica.

Erica herself appears to have disappeared - I think she's in the state between having arrived at the Buyee front door but not having yet been put into storage.

I'm coming round to the idea of including acquiring a Miku at some point. I thought that Vocaloids and vTubers were kind of over, but recently they've been releasing some very well received content. I'm pretty sure Miku will be re-re-rebooted and I wouldn't rule out a future reboot of Kizuna AI either (given how trendy AI is right now).

While we wait for a Miku reboot, here's some cozy chill Miku. The new Snow Miku song is great too - I kind of wished I'd preordered that outfit now.

 

I'm a newbie when it comes to vinyl anime dolls. I've been collecting resin bjds for couple years and was never really interested in anime vinyl dolls until last year when I saw beautiful customs of Dollfie Dreams and Smartdolls! So I guess for 2023, I plan to buy at least one Dollfie Dream. In particular, a custom head from the Japanese faceup artist, m_guppe on IG/Twitter. No luck so far though, as their custom heads are sold on Yahoo Auctions and I either don't like the head or the bidding end up more than $1k ^^;

Now it feels like I'll never be able to afford their heads, so I just started looking for faceup artist instead. I should get the DD head this month though, since semi-white skin will not be offered until fall and I don't want to wait that long lol
