Anya Forger (+ the new ChimikkoDD)

Every week or so I check to see if there's been any news, stare at the page announcing the body wistfully, and wait for Fall to get here. Would love to know your plan if you're willing to divulge! I'm the kind of person that tends to have no expectations for my doll's style or character until they get to me. It's almost like I need to have them on-hand to know what direction I want to go.

I suspect it was part of the licensing agreement—to encourage sales, they won’t release the body standalone until after Anya releases. A lot of people bought Anya specifically for the Chimikko body, which is likely what they were counting on.

I'm mostly the same way, especially since I have no idea what kind of heads will work for the Chimikko body or if it will be released with special heads... I thought I remembered someone earlier in the thread saying that in person Anya's head seemed particularly big, so maybe volks will be offering bigger heads?

So I don't have any specific plans. I just know I want the character to be a monster/yokai disguising itself as a grade schooler. So basically just an evil little kid. 🤭

That was definitely me, although I think a few others also mentioned it. Imo the bigger head doesn’t look great, but luckily the usual heads they use for MDDs seem to go well with the Chimikko body. I’m planning to put a tan DDH-27 from Dream Choice on one.

I have said it before and I will say it again: if they make a Chibimoon, I and my wallet will be EFFED because I am NOT missing out on her. The other senshi just never felt/looked right (why does Usagi have a different color of blonde than Minako, IT'S LITERALLY A PLOT POINT THAT THEY MATCH gkjfhgjkfdh) but if they make a beautiful Chibimoon... I'm done for.

EDIT: also if they make Chibimoon, I bet that they'll release Pluto in the same tan as Anthy with her. You can't have Small Lady without Puu!

Man, I hope the Chimikko body comes out at some point! I know people are gonna use it shell Lalafell characters no doubt! Even I toyed with it! XD

Volks will probably use it to shell Lalafell characters.

I have been MIA for awhile and am checking in for news on the Chimikko body. Anyone have any new information? I sooooo want a cute custom DD 01 on that body!

There hasn’t been any updates probably won’t have any info until after Anya is released in the fall so Aug/Sep maybe.

Chimikko would make such cute Nahida from Genshin Impact, or any of the small characters really.

Looking for outfits for Anya (I’m extremely excited for her) and having the hardest time remembering/finding info what size would fit her well. Will she be able to wear YOSD clothes? She’s more like 1/5 right? Apologies up front my brain is not braining.

From the Volks website:

Basically, MDD compatible dresses, Wigs, and Shoes can be worn. However, since the arms and legs of "Chimikko Dollfie Dream" are shorter than MDD, the length and balance when dressed are different from when wearing MDD.

Right!! I’m so dumb I remember the photo of her wearing a matching dress with an MDD 🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️ sorry. Idk my brain was looking for a convo that didn’t happen regarding her clothing g size.

As far as I can tell, with DDP they said the same thing, but they did make a few DDP sized pieces like socks.

There was a conversation about Chimikko in the volks news 104 thread! That might be what you remembered. Since it’s relevant to Anya I’ll paste it here.

Okay yes! I saw the convo in passing while on break and didn’t give it my full attention! Thank you!

 

Although looks like I will be making a slopper pattern for Anya when I get her still. Was hoping to just have a couple outfits on hand, since both of her outfits are black.

There may be some MDD tops that would work as a dress; like the one Chimikko is modeling.

It's kind of annoying that Volks doesn't list Chimikko as a fit on outfits yet, not even the one she is modeling. 

Anya needs to release faster so they can start selling regular chimikko models!!! i want one so bad 😭!!!

I AM LITERALLY COUNTING DOWN!!! Wish we at least had a month to go on, because is “fall” September or November like I’m dying to have my Anya.

So I’m a little confused, I saw that Anya’s going to start shipping in October and me being the nervous person I am I jumped on my account to double check that I didn’t miss my invoice email and this is what it looks like…. it says that my that my second deposit is “scheduled”, but I can’t click on them to pay them. So does that mean I won’t get an invoice until later and should keep checking?

You won’t get the invoice (a payment link in your email)until she is actually ready to be shipped. It will also be ‘end of October’ - potentially the 26th? It’s usually on a Saturday and that’s the last one in October, so I expect people will be invoiced around then!

I didn’t get her but I’ve been so excited for her release because I want to see all the photos!

Oh okay!! Thank you so much! I’m going to do an unboxing and have a billion photos planned for her!! Also can volks wigs be hot water reset? Wanna give her ringlets so bad 😅😅

I got my payment request for Anya on the weekend! According to the email, she's expected to start shipping from the 26th of October.

I feel like I can finally start getting excited about her now!

Wow, have they been this early before? It’s technically still an over month until she ships! 
But I’m dying to see all the pics. I also wonder if November Volks News will be too soon for any news on Chimikko released in Dream Choice or as a base body.
