hello!! ^^

hi! im cloudie (she/her), im an 21 year old artist and collector residing in AZ, and im new to the vinyl doll community! im very excited to start my adventure into collecting these beautiful and luxurious dolls, but i want to try and keep it reasonable and not buy so many of them since im also spending money on figures and other things. while i have been lurking on this form for a few weeks or so now, i wanted to give a warm introduction as i will be recieving my very first Dollfie Dream Doll-Arcueid Brunestud-very soon! as i write this she's currently in transit and should be here by monday or tuesday! 

being primarily a figure collector has opened new avenues for me to explore when it comes to obtaining merchandise of some of my favorite characters, which is how i found out about volks dolls. i was surprised to see how much smaller this community was compared to that of the figure collecting community, but i think that's to be expected given how expensive bjds can be and how they aren't for everyone. in fact, i used to be a bit scared of dolls, in the sense that i found them a bit uncanny, but something about anime-style dolls has made them feel so much more appealing to me :3

i currently own one doll, that of which being a Hatsune Miku Harmonia Humming doll from GSC, with another two on the way of Emilia and Reimu from Azone's Pureneemo line!

in the instance that i do end up becoming more enticed by dolls, i might even look into customize my own one day! i have a few characters of my own in mind in the case that i do end up making one, but for now i'm just gonna sit back and see where this new interest takes me. if anyone has any good guides for getting into doll customization, please don't hesitate to share!

Hey there, welcome to the forums! 

Arcueid Brunestud is such a pretty Dollfie! I don't know anything about Tsukihime - although it is somewhere in my ever growing backlog - but Arc's design is so nice that I think I would have tried to get her as my first Dollfie, if I had started the hobby this year instead of last. I don't think we have many owners of her here on the forum, so I definitely hope you'll indulge us with some photos once she arrives!

As far as customizing goes, there's a lot of resources on it that you can find here on the forums. If there's ever any concrete questions, feel free to ask away! 

In any case, I hope you enjoy your stay - and your new Dollfie! May she bring you a lot of joy for a long time to come. The hobby can be intimidating/expensive when you first get into it (I mean, I guess it always stays expensive, especially when new girls somehow always find their way into our carts and hearts ), but I think one of the best parts about it is that each 'collector' is able to enjoy it in their own way and at their own pace!

Getting Arc this soon is a great coincidence, as you'd be able to see other sizes and characters to compare notes with.

Also, with you mentioning customizing any future Kiddos, there's a lot of crafty folks out here to bounce ideas around!

Also started with figures before I took the step into dolls. I honestly can say that Volks doesn’t dissapoint.

Don’t forget to ad some photo’s when she arrives. 

You will notice that there is no limit in creativity in this hobby. There are so many different ways to create items, parts and outfits.

thanks for the warm welcome!! im actually a relatively new fan to Tsukihime myself, just started reading the vn in fact, but ive always been a fan of Arcueid and her design! im also just a fan of type-moon as a whole, so i have a lot of biases for anything under that umbrella. ill be sure to post plenty of photos, given she will be my first dollfie and that not many people own her! i got her Princess of True Ancestor set which ill also be showcasing!

definitely gonna try my best to research into customization at some point-it seems like a fun thing to pick up one day ^^

im excited to see where my doll collection goes!!

hi!! i appreciate the hospitality! im happy to hear that there are local doll collectors here in the valley ^^ 

i looked into your next meetup and im so sad because i work on the 25th! i was actually planning on going to az matsuri the following day...but it seems like you do meetups every so often, so ill be sure to make time to join one someday! would love to bring Arcueid with me!

yay!! always happy to find new locals to talk to! as i mentioned in a previous reply, i unfortunately won't be able to make it to the meetup happening on the 25th due to work falling on that day :c but i'd love to try and make it to future meetups! and id be more than happy to join the server!

ill be posting plenty of photos for Arcueid as soon as she arrives! i want to showcase her as much as possible! 

and yeah i get that! im not super huge into the more realistic approach to dolls, but i do find them to be artistically beautiful. i love to admire the craftsmanship that goes into these dolls!

Aww, sucks you have to work on a Saturday! (I do understand though.) 

There's plenty of meets up in Phoenix, A Doll and Bear show around August/September, Phoenix Fan Fusion anime convention, June 2nd. - 4th. Saboten-con, (site seems to be temporarily down) which usually has a BJD panel most of the time. 

Also of note: @sinclair has a couple of the smaller trains to run and have pictures with the Kiddos, too. (McCormick Stillman Train Park in Scottsdale) 

It would be cool to have you join in to the Discord Server, too! (Bonus points if you play Genshin Impact! Not necessary, but it's a fun game.)

Careful! We might just "mob" your table with Kiddos for photo ops! (kidding! We'd only do so if you're ok with it... )

Halloween and Christmas is an awesome time to be there, they have the whole park done up with decorations, great photo ops all around! (and riding the trains are really cool with the Kiddos!)

No worries! We do occasionally "gang up" on each other's worlds and co-op to help each other get leveled up. (I'm currently in "Co-op lockdown" until I finish a specific quest/storyline.) Also, you can join in to see what's happening in the game thru the server, if you decide to get further along in the game.

Welcome to the forum. Arcueid is a really awesome first Dollfie, congratulations. I have her "sister" Yor. It was a night of disappointment not winning her in the clickwars, but I found her anyway.

Just be warned... Arcueid will demand a sister. They always want sisters. Just look at my signature. Omg.
