Warning: Fake Smartdoll Website active

Recommended Posts

(copied from FB with permission. Because it is my post lol)

WARNING WARNING WARNING

There is a website claiming to sell Smartdoll for low prices. They state a full Smartdoll is 90 - 97$ with them, which is extremely sketchy.

The only official Smartdoll dealers are:
Fabric and Friends Dolls in the US
Anime Sugoi in Europe

It looks interesting with the official logo, official photos and overall rather professional look BUT!!! This website is not a dealer and cannot legitimately offer these low prices so please do not trust them. They even claim to have items that haven't been for sale for a long time.

Some other odd things:
Their returns and exchange page talk about jewelry and wellness items while they claim to sell Smartdoll.
They state they are based in the US but only returns from UK are free...
"Super secure payment" ... Right.

My worries is that new collectors and parents may believe this website, so if you hear anyone talking about this please warn them.

The name of the website is TheSmartdollUS

Please only buy from official dealers, the official website or secondhand using Paypal G&S.

This is the holy trinity of sus. @onion16@ The only way that gets worse is if each order includes a free Nigerian Prince.

If the Nigerian Prince is Eiji in Cocoa, it’s not so bad… 🤔

"Our drivers may perform a kerbside delivery if requested or deemed necessary."

The spelling across the website is killing me.

The email address that pops up if you attempt to pay is qup203804@163.com. I placed an order as Herman Munster at 1313 Mockingbird Lane 😄

Apparently the scamming websites have been growing lately. I was surprised to see Danny make a statement on the official website making clear of the only reputable retailers. It’s a shame, but it also helps give credit to the authenticity of Fabric Friends, and Dolls along with Anime Sugoi

’Kerb’ is the correct spelling (for the noun, not the verb) in most non-US English speaking countries (if that’s what you meant??), I assume it was just copy pasted from Danny’s site like everything else.

Not that I suggest trying it, but does anyone know what happens if someone orders? Do they just take the money and run or are there actually fake smartdolls in circulation? Unless you just receive one of those dollar store knockoff barbies with ‘smartdoll’ written on the package in sharpie 🤔

Glad to see this mentioned.

@Monty I can't say what would happen if you order but I messed around on the site about a month ago and dropped things into my cart just to see how the site reacted. When I added a doll to my cart the site came with tiny popups almost constantly telling me that so and so just bought that very same doll! I left the site up for a bit just for fun and according to their tiny popups they somehow managed to sell dozens of smartdoll Courage in less than an half an hour.

I was pretty much just going to order directly from the smartdoll website and eat the hefty import fee we have here to avoid the risk of scam sites like this one, so I was very happy to see anime-sugoi listed on the official smartdoll website
